Regarding Lifted No Fear Titan

So, my 3 week old Titan, lifted, No Fear Edition is a lot of fun to own and operate. It drives great, has plenty of power. It get's looks whereever I go.

This is the first vehicle I have ever owned that is raised. At night when I drive up on someone in a car and some trucks, I light up their whole interior. I have had people think I have my "brights" on, I have been given the "finger". People flip their rear view mirror down or move into the next lane.

Last night, some girl in a Jeep got so pissed off, she slowed down, got behind me and followed me for a block with her 'high beams' on.

What do you guys think about this - especially you lifted Titan owners?

The truck is totally legal and factory tricked out. I feel bad for some of these people - am I just being over-sensitive about it?

Thanks !

Re: Regarding Lifted No Fear Titan

My buddy has an F150 with about 8" of lift. It really blasts people in cars when sitting at a light, so he doesn't follow too closely, and typically just flicks the headlights off at long lights.
A bit of a hassle, but he doesn't seem to have anyone get hostile with him.

Re: Regarding Lifted No Fear Titan

It happens, and even more so as the roads fill up with huge SUV's like H2's and Escalades. Also, here in So. Cal, I see way more lifted trucks than lowered trucks compared to a few years ago. Bring on HID's and everyone driving with aftermarket lights and it's more noticeable. Honestly if you're not doing it on purpose then I wouldn't feel bad. Even if you're in a stock Titan, if you pull up behind a slammed car or a sports car you might light up their interior. Just make sure you don't tail a cop!

Re: Regarding Lifted No Fear Titan

I have the CST 8" lift and have the same problem. I actually had a cop yell at me thru his loud speaker I just ignored him which prolly pissed him off more. Oh well once I flash people back they usually just stay way back. The ones who want to be A-holes about it I just stop in my lane(or slow to a crawl).

You might check the adjustment on your headlights. Maybe they are already at limit down, though.

Re: Regarding Lifted No Fear Titan

I thought I was the only one with this problem of people getting pissed thinking I have my Highs on.

I usually just flash my highs and then they seem to get out of my way, or pull over if they dont want to be in front of my Headlights.

I just adjusted mine down some will see how it lights up the road tonight and maybe adjust back up. One silly question the adjust screw does both high and low beam correct?

Yes, it should adjust both beams.

Re: Regarding Lifted No Fear Titan

Did you park a set distance from a wall and measure? Maybe you could get a forum user to give you their high and low beam measurements from a given distance. Anyone know if the height setting is in the factory manual?.

Re: Regarding Lifted No Fear Titan

It is, but it's for non-lifted Titans. If your's is lifted, even a level kit, then you'll have to do a little math. I found that it was just easier to adjust them on a large, dark, and flat parking lot.

Well you could, but your lights would end up pointed at a greater degree downward, therefore not shining near as far outward from the vehicle.

Re: Regarding Lifted No Fear Titan

I did it in my garage. I pulled in until the rubber seal on the door touched the truck and then just lowered the beam slightly.

I say....to heII with em'....lol. But be sure that after the raise...the headlights aren't over 36" (I believe that's the regulation...may be a little less) off the pavement, if they're higher than that, the truck is no longer street legal in any of the 50 states.
