Busted Axle 06 Pics....and Why I'm Driving a Silverado for a Week

5 of 6 Front axle bolts holding diff. we GONE and last one had broken off in axle. They weren't tightened from factory...You may want to check your torque values on those bolts.

Entire Axle assembly is being replaced (you can see damage from banging in second pic. They have the axle assembly in stock but the Freakin' Bolts are going to take ONE WEEK to get here. What is up w/that ? All service manager would say is that they are coming from "far away"...Japan ? One Week for 6 Bolts ?

Anyway they are taking good care of me...no complaints....Getting a Silverado on Nissan's tab until she's fixed.

Pic 1 shows where axle seperates.

Pic 2 shows damage.

Re: Busted Axle 06 Pics....and Why I'm Driving a Silverado for a Week

Yea...seems alot of guys here call you a troll or tell you to turn up the radio if there's a problem.

Under 1k and all the Bolts Holding axle to diff fall out....I'd be running out to check the torque values on those if you have an 06...

Damage is limited to the driver's side axle assembly...Nothing else was affected so she should be good as new w/the new set-up...

Can't understand why in this day and age w/overnight delivery it's going to take over a week fo those 6 bolts....

Re: Busted Axle 06 Pics....and Why I'm Driving a Silverado for a Week

The Silverado was a reg cab so I took the Mini Van instead.

Fire Red Dodge Grand Caravan w/Stow & Go Seats. This thing Rocks ! Seats Flip Right into the Floor
Huge Cargo Area....But....Bad Power...Cheap interior, flimsy steering wheel and stalk.

I'm a Soccer Mom !

ooohhhh, those bolts. That's pretty crappy. sorry you had to be the "one in ten-thousand" to have that problem. Hope it never happens to me! Enjoy your minivan, could be worse... it could be a Kia Rio.

Re: Busted Axle 06 Pics....and Why I'm Driving a Silverado for a Week

I will admit, there is more than one person or machine at that factory that can't torque things properly. One of my leaks was traced to a bolt holding the transfer case in, that was finger tight...

Good luick on your repairs!
