It's very nice looking truck. I've never been a fan of lowering a truck to make it "perform" better. You can buy a much better faster sports car for less.
To me, it's like "hey look, it's like a sportscar now, only sh*tier"
Cars are for lowering, trucks for lifting. My .02
Please don't take this personaly if you like to slam your truck.

I can just see me driving "that thing" into the woods hauling firewood or a deer out. I'd get hung up on the first stump.
Different strokes for different folks. If I wanted a sports car I would buy one. Just give me a real truck like my Titan thank you.
I agree. It looses some off road capability, but I was impressed by one thing. The new suspension, unlike its contemporaries such as Lightning, SRT-10, stupid lowering kits on whatever, etc. is desinged to allow it to maintain its tow rating and payload rating, keeping it practical, which is the most important to me. I like it and think as sport trucks go, this is the first I might consider.

At first I was like BAD@$$....but then after hearing some of ur posts...thats true Id rather go get a charger or a sports car....Im still uo for the SRT10 though....the ford just doesnt do it for me like the SRT10 but I dunno...maybe in person itd be different...
I like it, any info on it's performance specs? I dunno though, for high $40k's I think I would stick with the QC SRT-10. My my my how I love horsepower wars.

IIRC correctly the Lightning DID retain all if not close to a base F150's tow and payload ratings. For those of you who think of this truck in terms of off road ability, you miss the point. Of course it won't be good off road, it isn't meant to be. If someone buys a truck for off roading they will get a truck suited for it. If some one needs a 2wd truck for some fun, moderate towing, Home Depot runs and wants to still have performance this probably would be ideal. Imagine the sleeper possibilties if this thing was de baged to look like a run of the mill F150!

Lightning tow rating is 5,000. F150 of same year was 8,700. There was some confusion about what it is rated for because they use a standard F150 hitch on the lightning. The hitch has a 8,700 lbs rating, but the true rating, according to the manual, etc. is 5,000.
Payload for '03-'04 was 1350lbs., while earlier models was only 800lbs. '03 F150 had a 2000 lbs. payload. This was a funcion of the sport tuned suspension.
