I bought a new 2005 Titan on Saturday

Hey folks, I've been lurking here and at ClubTitan for several months now. Since we're giving our old Honda CRV to my daughter ( she's turning 16) I needed to replace it. Got an 05 Titan XE, Red Brawn, bedliner, and storage bin.

With only about 150 miles I already notice brake dust on the front wheels. No problem, I figured I'll eventually get the brake judder and take it in for the fix. I'm OK with that. I bought it at Mossy Nissan here in Houston. They have a real good service department.

I notice just a little bit of brake pedal sinking when I'm sitting at a red light for a long time. I don't know if that is a problem or not because I've owned other cars that have done the same thing. Maybe it's a vacuum leak? Something else?

Anyway, I love the truck. Unbelievable power. I notice a slight shimmy on the driver side door every now and then. Any way to adjust this? It comes and goes and it doesn't seem like it happens on bumpy roads. I've noticed it on smooth pavement too. Doesn't make sense.

Glad to be part of the Titan owner crowd though.

You'll get a lot of brake dust. Had the Final Brake Fix about 2 weeks ago. Some dust but not near as much. Make sure that you get your front rotors replaced. Don't let them tell you that you already have them.

Congrats!!! You'll love it.

xjx and blackmoon04,

Welcome to Titan Talk and the Titan family! Glad you decided to buy the best 1/2 ton truck out there. The smile you see in the mirror will be there two years from now too. Go out and buy a few accessories to make it "your own" Titan. Good luck with your trucks, enjoy the ride!

Clint

Re: I bought a new 2005 Titan on Saturday

Had mine since 12-3-05 and the first two weeks the brake dust was very noticeable, but since then it has been reduced by 70%. Anyway, it has a build date of 05-05-2005, me thinks i have the upgrade, so far so good at 800 miles.

Congrats, after driving the Honda CRV, the Titan must feel like driving a semi.

Re: I bought a new 2005 Titan on Saturday

Yea, after driving the CRV for the past year the Titan is a real nice change. Great power and size. The suspension feels real solid as does the steering.

I'm thinking of taking it back to the shop and ask then to do the TSB's on the brake pedal (mine isn't bad, but just to get them to check/adjust) and creaking door fix (again, not very noticeable, but I'd like for them to check it out anyway.
