Re: Chrome Tailgate Accent bubbling

Wow, that is pretty bad. Where'd you get yours?
They don't use salt here in Portland because it's environmentally "unfriendly". Well, that and it never gets below freezing.
We've been getting pounded by heavy rain for 30 some straight days now, and I'm so tired of washing the Titan, only to have it get muddied up that I'm driving my old Toyota 4X4 until the weather gets better.

Re: Chrome Tailgate Accent bubbling

That look pretty bad. I'm down in Texas so no salt to worry about unless I hit the beach. I belived someone here from South Padre had his messed up too from the Ocean salt.

Re: Chrome Tailgate Accent bubbling

Sent an Email So I'll see what he says. Got a debadge one coming back from getting painted to match the truck(Body guy did it while fixing my truck)as I plan on Debadgeing the truck though I'm still pissed as I wanted the option. This is what an oem emblem looks like after sitting in a Junkyard for 5years and 10 on the road not a 6month old piece. oh well just figured I'd see if there were any others and to let people in the north know.

Re: Chrome Tailgate Accent bubbling

I saw these on ebay but I opted for the full cover stainless steel version. {Gawd, I wish I had newer pictures.} I have had mine on for over a month now with no issues. I was reading about some of the tube steps and the ones made of stainless tout that they won't chip, peel or bubble like the chrome-plated ones. So, it's not just an issue with your particular item. Apparently, they all do it under certain conditions.

Re: Chrome Tailgate Accent bubbling

I don't like the real stainless full cover ones. They're not contoured at all and they cover everything rather than accent it. But it'll probably last forever. I'll gladly replace mine with the same chromed plastic one I have if need be.

Re: Chrome Tailgate Accent bubbling

It was a no-brainer for me. I don't care for all the flat black plastic that vehicle manufacturers plaster all over the outside of the vehicles. A few years in the sun and they start fading and looking dull. Plus when you wax them, it gets on the plastic and it's not easy to get off. I found a product that does, but it isn't cheap and it still isn't easy. That flat black plastic panel on the tailgate had to go.

That was me! BUT I got another replaced from my seller...The reason they get messed up though is that u dont take care of em...I got the second one and havent had a problem for months now...

Re: Chrome Tailgate Accent bubbling

I talked to Jason ******* and he said that they should not do this, and if I ordered a replacement from him he would warantee it from bubbling... Needless to say I guess this is what you get when you try to save a buck.

why dont u guys talk to ur ebay sellers BEFORE ordering I usually have em warranty me the products or if theyre not warrantied they sell em to me way cheaper than price online

and dont get me wrong I have had problems before with SOME ebayers but for the most part if I actually care for what Im buying like this tailgate trim...they helped me out
