Thumbs up New member & Titan owner from Louisiana

Hi everyone, just wanted to say hi and tell everyone that this is a great forum. There's all kinds of good information on this board which is very helpful to a new Titan owner as myself. I recently purchased a 2006 Smoke CC SE 4X4 (1/18/06) after owning a single cab Chevy Z71 for the past 7 years. Needless to say the extra room in the CC is nice after being cramped up in a single cab for so long. I am looking forward to sharing stories with everyone on here!

Later,
TecheTitan

Re: New member & Titan owner from Louisiana

I'm glad to see a few other guy's from Louisiana on the board here. Sounds like all of our jobs revolve around the oilfield too. I am a safety rep. working offshore.
How do ya'll like your Titan's so far? I'm curious to see how well they will hold up over long term use because mine is only a few days old. I am sure it will be a good vehicle if it is anything like the small Hardbody style trucks I had years ago. They were bulletproof!

I work out of the Houma base, 7 and 7 on my days off right now. Go to New Iberia for training. Got to go pretty soon for our annual recurrent training.

Yeah almost all jobs around here have something to do with the oilfield. I have had mine for about 6 months with out any problems I have never liked a truck more than this one.

Re: New member & Titan owner from Louisiana

Glad to hear the truck is treating you right, helomech. I have to say that so far I agree with you, this truck just plain impresses me with the ride, handling, and most certainly the power! Like I said before, I had a '99 Chevy Z71, and I really liked it, but the Titan is just a more refined vehicle IMO. The MP3/WMA player in it from the factory is a nice touch too.

I drove the chevy z71 and it didn't have near the power of the titan. I even tried the chevy with the 6 liter, and it still didn't have the power of the titan. Just got back from playing in the mud, I have been hoping for a good rain for a while, so me and the kids went ride on a old dirt road by the house and had a real good time. Cleaning it after sucks though.

Re: New member & Titan owner from Louisiana

I hear ya! It seems like it takes weeks to get the mud off after just an hour in the mud. Do you have any mods on your truck yet?

Nothing yet, and I stress YET! LOL. I am going to do the essentials first such as husky floor liners and seat covers to keep the kids and dog from tearing the seats up. I have the underseat storage bin that came with the truck new and the bed extender as well. I am also planning on taking out the drop in liner and getting a LineX spray in. I may do that when I get back in from work in a few weeks. Shoulda opted for the utility bed package now that I think about it.
I also want to beef up the stereo with some woofers/speakers, but no big rush to do that right now. I will probably get the level kit or perhaps the mini lift (still debating) and I would like a set of more aggressive tires too, but no rush for that either.

I had the cold air intake/TB spacer on my Chevy and plan on doing that to the Titan plus an exhaust for performance mods.
How do you like the AEM? Did it make much difference?

Re: New member & Titan owner from Louisiana

Forgot about the spray in bedliner dealer had it put in. I really like the aem intake don't have to oil it. The sound is awesome, as far as performance there might be a little increase in bottom end, more on the top end. The biggest things I want are a winch, a super charger, and some good tires. I got the catch all cloth floor liners.

Welcome to Titan Talk. I ditto the color choice. I have a 2005 4X4 CC/SE BT with :
Airaid, Borla duals, Volant Gen 3, Armada spoiler, Ranchos in front and out back, Hellwig rear anti-roll bar, and more to come. I eventually want to run a single turbo(if the price comes down a bit).
