I removed my sensors and stashed them in the glove box about 3 weeks ago and have not seen the idiot light yet, however, when I had the sensors on my wheels....even overinflated to my normal 60 psi that I prefer...that dang light would come on and go back off regularly on my long drives....I have no explanation.

I like my tires hard. I am willing to put up with the jarring ride, dash rattles and center tread tire wear because I'm a bonified, card carrying idiot. I like the feel of hard tires. Nothing responds better. I use to pump up my front tires to 90lbs. at the dragstrip for less rolling resistance. Back in the bias ply days, I would put 90lbs. in my stockcar tires and lay them in the sun for days to "grow" the tire. You know, increase the rollout to alter the stagger. I learned that radial tires will not "grow".

For everybody that ditched the tire pressure sensors to put on wheels of there choice, has the light come on since you did this?
I.E. if you have the sensors and take the wheels off (not the spare) will the light be a constant on thing, a every so often thing, or a never thing.
My light turns on after about 30-40 minutes of driving. No buzzer or anything, just a solid light. Then after the truck is turned off it resets. I find it to be no big deal.
I replaced my stock wheels with aftermarket wheels about 2 months ago. The tire pressure light has been on ever since. I never resets, it is ALWAYS on when the truck is on.
I went down to the dealership and they said that there is no way they can turn off the tire sensor light.
I just try to ignore it. I guess you could always take the dash apart and take out the light behind the gauge that lights up. I figured that it doens't bother me enough to go through that much trouble.

Why not have them installed in to your aftermarket wheels?
I haven't taken a look at the stock ones in the titan, but my wife's Mazda RX-8 has them and they are just part of the valve stem(actually you have to drop them into the wheels by removing the nut holding the valve stem each tire change to avoid damage to them via the tire machine), so If the titan ones are the same, why not use them in the same fashion even if you have to modify the new wheel's valve stem hole to accommodate?

The main reason I didn't was because I ordered them from discount tire direct. Mounted, balanced and delivered to my door step. They were cheaper by almost $500 over anyplace local. And I just couldn't see spending another $100 +/- to have the sensors installed locally. I've never had them before, so I won't miss them.
