Question anyone get a fix for the gas gauge yet?

My approaching the end of my warranty. I've had the sending unit replaced twice and my never seems correct. I had 200miles on a full tank and my gauge showed that I had just less than a 1/4 tank.
my gauge shows me that I need to fill up at about 250miles.

Re: anyone get a fix for the gas gauge yet?

My yellow light came on just under a quarter tank yesterday at 237 miles. I drove it to 275 miles and filled up with 22.9 gallons (about 12.38 mpg). It was hovering at about 1/16th of a tank according to the gauge. I'm just gonna live with it. I don't think I'm having quite the problem others are having. I figure that I can drive safely (sans 4x4 ops.) up to 300 miles before a fill up in town.

Mine hits empty with 4 gallons left in the tank. Reserve. Don't worry about miles, how many gallons are left. Should be 3-4 at E for a reserve.

Take it in and have the problem documented so that when you are out of warranty, if the problem continues, you'll be covered.

I've never had any problems with my fuel gauge. I was lucky in not having the AC leakage or fuel gauge trouble. I had nearly the rest of them.

Have a good one.

Unless it's REALLY out of wack, leave it alone. Even the "fix" doesn't fix it 100%. It's a documented TSB and will probably always be covered but do have it looked at like Mike up said just to be sure.

Re: anyone get a fix for the gas gauge yet?

I'm waiting for my next service to document it. My light comes on at different times so I've learned not to rely on it. Sometimes it will comes on just below 1/4 tank and sometimes it's almost empty before it lights up. I usually fill-up just under the 1/4 tank mark because of the other problem of it spitting-up if it's empty. I haven't had the spitting out gas problem yet and I'm not going to chance it.

Re: anyone get a fix for the gas gauge yet?

I'm on my second sender. TSB's aren't recalls so the dealer isn't obligated to abide by it. hopefully there will be a real recall to fix this.

Re: anyone get a fix for the gas gauge yet?

I've learned to deal with it. However, I have yet to see a TSB on this? Can someone post it? It isn't on NissanHelp.com and it wasn't on nissan-techinfo.com last time I checked either.

Re: anyone get a fix for the gas gauge yet?

I just had my fuel sending unit replaced due to the faulty reading I had. It seems to have fixed the problem.
