Aux Input on 2006 Rockford System - Page 2

So it is a 2006 thing. I read all these complaints about the stereo and I couldn't peice it together since i find mine to be very good for a factory unit.

I thought all you guys complaining were on crack

Have yet to try out the AUX port though.

thanks for clearing that up for me, it's just what I was looking for.

My 05 RF will not play the MP3'S at all unless you have a player hook up in the Aux jack.

So this 06 RF would be nice to have.

The early stereo's were defective crap the new one's work like the other's should have in the first place. But Nissan never admitted there was a problem.

This may be great news.... my 05 RF is a great stereo until you plug in an mp3 player. So, I am reallly curious if swapping the 06 head unit into my 05 would fit and if it would really work correctly. Whomever is doing this, please post when you find out. I recently gave up and just had my XM that came with the truck turned back on. It really does suck that there was an AUX jack put in the truck that was pretty much useless... it would have been far better if it just wasn't there. I specifically went out and bought an mp3 player to use in the truck and was/am pretty disappointed.... oh well

My 2005's mid-level 6CD headunit has no problems with the Aux input.. it seems amplified and all. In fact with my Mp3 player at a little above half volume, the headunit turned to volume 15, the music is really pumping. Perhaps this is a problem only with the RF package headunit?

Nope I had a 2004 midlevel and it didn't work. neither did the RF units. I don't know at what date they started working. But back in 2004 there were numerous threads and complaints on this.

I'm 11/04 build-date and my truck's an 05 model and mine stinks!!!!!!!! They probably fixed it right after mine rolled off the line

Does the 06 RF head unit have the XM receiver and all built in? I now have a 05 RF and am already planning on buying the 06 RF for the MP3 capability. But XM would be a nice thing also!

Follow up question, bought my 05 without the NAV system, but would like to have, any help to get this started??

It has a connector for an NBUS cable to be used in connecting a Nissan XM receiver, just like my 04 RF.

i had my 02/04 build RF radio replaced under warranty about 8 or 9 months ago due to crappy fading FM reception....the replacement radio works great for radio play now....however, i sense that in a coulple months it will begin to have somemore FM reception problems and need to be replaced w/ a newer updated 06 MP3 radio.....

The XM or Siruis is still an add on.
And yes for the people with the original radio problems this would be a good time for the fade problems to come back.
