Aux Input on 2006 Rockford System

Like many people here I owned a 2004 Titan with the crappy Aux input on the stereo unit. Initally I was excited about this feature an went out and bought an MP3 player. I was very disapointed and had to turn the volume up to 27-28 out of the 32 volume levels that exist. The volume obviously was low and distorted.
Well I now have some good news! I traded in my 2004 for a better equipted 2006. It has the Rockford Fosgate with MP3 and WMA capability. I have had it for a week and finally decided to plug in my MP3 player just so I could be disapointed again. Well I had been listening to MP3 CD's I made at volume level 15 which is pretty loud. So I plug in my Creative Zen Sleek MP3 player and hit the AUX button and it almost blew me out of my seat. I had to lower it to 13 and it was still very loud. It sounded awesome subwoofer cranking and all.
This leads me to beleive like a lot of us thought from the beginning that something was wrong with the manufacture/design of the original head units from Panasonic. And by the way the FM rocks also.
I know that a lot of you headed to the stereo store to get rid of the original units because they sucked. I wonder would it would take for those you that still have the terrible units in their 2004-2005 Titans to get the new unit installed. It really is a world of differance and I am very exited to share this good news with all of you. I know back in 2004 there were many threads on this and complaints filed with Nissan. I had mine replaced and it was no better. I thinks this proves that the other units were defective and maybe Nissan can work something out with you.

I never thought I would see it an AUX input that actually works.

I have been satisfied with my 06 as well. The stereo does not knock my socks off, but I think its pretty good and I don't see a need to upgrade. The FM radio is still a little worse than I expected, but not as bad as many of the posts I've read on older models. The speakers and sub seem good enough for me, but I am no audiophile.

Believe me if you had one of the rotton 2004 stereo's you would know what I am talking about. They had a real problem never admitted by Nissan. I called Customer service many times and complained to the dealer and they all played dumb.

Good news. I think this will motivate me to swap in the new 2006 RF HU I have sitting on my workbench.

My '05 rocks!!! The CD sounds great at 13. My Sirius F**CKING ROCKS at 13. I hate to say it but I am listening to a lot of rap just for the bass, especially Backspin on Sirius. Nothing like some ol' school Too Short, The Ghetto.

best.... Let us know how it sounds, did you get your 06 RF from ebay like the one post you have of the 06 RF or did you go through the dealer???

And if you went through Ebay was it from a person or is it from a suppler.

I regret to say that I ordered mine from a dealer off the Internet a few weeks before they started showing up on ebay, and received it about a week before I first saw one on Ebay.

I can confirm that mine has a sticker identical to that shown on Ebay, with the same part number.

I will post my results.

I'd just like to store and use my MP3's in the RF.

Here is a link to one on Ebay. Your lucky. I really want this but the wifey would kill me right now. She gets her bedroom furniture first before I can buy anything. Even something as cheap as $160. I was pissed when I figured out mine dosen't have MP3 technology. That's what I get for not asking.

You misunderstood. The Aux jack now works. The Stereo was installed in my New 2006 Titan Factory installed. And yes the overall sound is much improved as you now we were all complaining about the original ones. Lol by the way am I the only one on their 2nd Titan?

I've heard complaints about the '04 aux. The lovely Mrs. Rico387 plugs her iPod into my '05 Crapford and it works pretty well. Now if I could just get away from her chick music without wanting to pull over and beat my head on every telephone pole...

Thanks..... I'll wait to hear from best if everything works when he dose his install.
I remember back on my old 04 you could not even take another radio out of a LE and put it into mine the radio buttons would not work so I'm hoping the one best has will work.

And I know what it's like having to answer to the wife on how much and what we can spend our money on as well.

$160.00 sounds like a great deal to me.
And I have to say that adding Sirius on my 05 is without a dought the best thing that I could have done for the radio, it now sounds just great stock to me as well.

So the 06 RF radio cant store the MP3'S

you still need to use the Aux jack,I was hoping that the radio would hold the MP3'S like a MP3 player dose.
I'm also on my 2nd Titan and there are others as well.

The Head Unit will take 6 discs and they can all be MP3's or WMA's if you wish. So that can be 600-900 songs depending on the bit rate you record them at. I was refering to pluging mt MP3 player into the Aux Jack with now works and with high volume unlike our original one. I guess you need to read my original post again. I use both MP3 CD's and my portable MP3 Player because I have Podcasts of my favorite radio show Coast to Coast Am and about 3,000 songs on my player. The real point I was trying to make is that the AUX jack is now fixed on the 2006 Stereo's. And by the way the New stereo plays both kinds of music Counrty and Western Heh!
