I was going to buy a Titan tonight but now Im unsure

You guys have scared the hell out of me with the rear diff problems. This is why I am getting out of my ford. The brake problems don't sound good either. I use my truck primarily for hauling a boat weighing in at 4000lbs. I have my title with me and have come to a deal on an 05 leftover. As of finding this site i am holding off for now and going to look at ford. Do you guys have any advise to steer me back to the Titan?

12000 trouble free miles, I wouldn't trade my truck for 2 F-150's.

12,000 miles is like half a year of driving for me. Reading the numerous problems with the rear and brakes is what concerns me. To lay out almost 30k and have these poblems is scary. One guy even said , "I love my Titan as long as the keep fixing it for free" that worries me. Im not looking for a cool looking truck im looking for a reliable truck.

I just got mine in October so it is about half a year for me to. And besides I am very hard on a truck. I can't help but drive hard, and I get about 14 mpg in the city and 17 on the hwy. I go offroad a couple times a week and I tow alot. Got a 30 foot travel lodge travel trailer. By the way I hope you don't think the F-150 has been trouble free?

Im lookind at an 05 leftover. Looks like there are atleast a dozen just on this site. I gotta think there are about 5 percent of titan owners on this site. So that is what worries me. Man, I was dead set on this until I was driving in to work this morning with title in hand and got stuck in traffic behind a Nissan Titan. Decided to get out of the car and tap on his window. His was an 04. I said Im buying one of these tonight what do you think of yours? He said "worst vehicle I have ever owned. Been through one rear, one transmission, three brake overhauls and they still are'nt working right" Not the answer I was looking for. This is what led me to this site. Trying to find out more.............

Re: I was going to buy a Titan tonight but now Im unsure

All manufacturers make some vehicles that are a lot of trouble. My brother has a 2003 Honda Accord and it has left his wife stranded at least 5 times. I have know people with the toyota tacoma that has been junk. But most of these vehicles are very reliable. When you are selling 100 of thousands of vehicles some are going to have problems, as long as it is a small amount of vehicles. Do some research on F-150 problems and recalls.

7 Months of ownership, 25,500 miles....old brakes....not a single issue....

05 XE CC non big-tow, non-OR, build date 11-04

All I can say is there is no way I would be happier with anything else.

05 KC SE, 22k miles with no problems other than a simple brake fix. You'll regret the ford when you see all these titans flying by you!

04 seems to be the year with most problems but what do you except for a first time builder of 1/2 ton pickups. I think they did a good job and I now think I love my truck more than my wife. I have an 05 leftover and I give that thing hell just cant get enough of tha powerful V8. If you havnt driven one drive it. The seats in my opinion are much better than ford. and I have the bench seats not the captains chairs. I recently drove my buddys 06 XLT f-150 for at least 4 hours or more. I was the designated driver on a night out. Couldnt wait to get back in my Titan!!!

Not to mention Ford mis advertises there towing cap. My buddy took his to Tallahasse to a shop that has a machine to test towing cap and I think he got a little over 6000lbs! rated like 9k.
