Re: Wake Up and Smell the Coffee. Nissan Has Diesel Trucks Allready
Has anyone else seen that the EPA is putting out new standards for emissions in 2007 and those requirements are going to increase the costs of diessel engines anywhere from 2,500-10,000$ more than they are now
Yes, the 10K range is for the BIG diesel engines, but the requirements call for new stuff to be added to the engines to reduce the emissions. New stuff costs money.
This information is from International for their medium duty trucks and school busses up to their larger diesels for commercial big-rigs. I do not know if this new EPA mandate is for smaller diesels like what the domestics have and what the Titan hopes to have. If these engines require it as well, then expect the price for a diesel to increase for the 2007-2008 model year trucks. http://fleetowner.com/news/topstory/..._price_110905/

Yes, world travelers and Military folks know that the Import Makers have had Diesels for years.....Not to mention the rest of the world had Crew cabs way before the first small trucks arrived here in 2000 with the Fronty.....

What your saying may be true, but if someone else, say cummins, builds the major components, I'm still gonna call it a cummins!
Re: Wake Up and Smell the Coffee. Nissan Has Diesel Trucks Allready
do you think the Cummins badgeing are glued so they could be "debadged" whatever they use to give the Titan a TD I'm in line but for the rest I have no problem with your decision TD's are not for everyone until then I'll love my gas engine take care all the TD's are coming but only time will tell us what we are going to get

You can go over to Ford truck Enthuiasts web site and find all of the many owners complaining about problems they are having with the 6.0 liter, sense they been putting them into the trucks it's seems like it's been one problem after another over there.
Alot of membes say they wished they would have kept there old 7.3 liter diesel because they had way fewer problems then the 6.0.
Theres one thread a Moderator started over there that started like over 3 years ago and is still going strong.

Ford did help design it,but they don't assemble the engine in Kentucky Truck Plant,or atleast from what I've seen. The Navistar UAW workers assemble it, and Ford installs it in the truck.
Only a handfull of plants assemble the engines, mainly the Windsor plant, and maybe one in mexico,Im not sure on that one. Do they still build those POS ranger motors in Cologne, Germany???
