Thumbs down Wake Up and Smell the Coffee. Nissan Has Diesel Trucks Allready

I'm getting tired of reading about the exciting "new" Titan diesel and comments about this being Nissans first diesel truck and can they really build a diesel.

Get your heads out of your azzes. The US isn't the only place on Planet Earth.

Nissan, Toyota have had diesel trucks in the rest of the world since before you were born.

I know your frustration; I have lived 7 years overseas with the military and really see a unawareness disease with some of us Americans. My old roommate is a WRX STI freak and is on line all the time, you know buying stuff from Japan. He actually asked my cousin if Italy had internet.

I know that nissan has been making diesels, but I am excited that we may actually be able to buy one here and in a full size pickup.

If you can't buy one here in the US it might as well be on another planet! Most folks that haven’t been to Asia & the Middle East probably wouldn’t know about the proliferation of Nissan diesels through out the Pacific rim & Asian and practically every where else on earth. ! Thanks for the geography lesson!

Take your head out of your ar$e. Alot of us know that Nissan has been making diesel engines for quite some time. Did ever occur to you that Its gonna be in a TITAN!!! That means a better looking diesel then the big 3 produce. That means Titan owners and or future Titan owners will have a choice of truck. Not just stuck in the half/ton market. This means more titan talk members more knowledge. 20,000 heads is still better than a whooping 8,500.

BTW, that Navara diesel engine puts out some serious power. At 2.5 liters its pushing around 170HP, and close to 300lbs of torque ( at only 2000 rpms). Can't wait to see what kind of moster diesel they put in the Titans.

Isn't it Powerstroke/International, Cummins, and Isuzu(duramax)? I'm not sure about the new ford 6.0 powerstroke, but I know the old 7.3 was made by International.

As far as Nissan goes, I think this diesel is gonna be a bit of a double edged sword. It would be sweet to see them put their own engine in the truck and beat up ont the big three. They already did one hell of a job with the 5.6, but... I wonder what the aftermarket will be like if they do put their own engine in it? If they went with an outside source for the engine it seems like the aftermarket might be a little better. Although I was pretty surprised the first time I heard that Banks was making an exhaust for the Titan. Whaterver goes in it, they better get it right the first time with all the scrutiny our truck has faced and still faces. Let the hp/torque wars begin.
