Rear diff for supercharger??

I know there is a big post on the rear diffs, but it is so long. I think I am going to be getting the stillen kit here in the next couple of weeks and want to upgrade my 06 4x4 off road, big tow rear diff. I want everything to be the same, but just a stronger diff to handle the extra power. Any ideas that can help me out? Thanks

Re: Rear diff for supercharger??

Ask Stillen. But the rear end should easily handle the extra HP. Don't go by the problem rears.....their few and not consistantly due to anything but bad batch of gears.

Curry or Dynatrac 60. I would not trust the factory 44 with 500+HP.

He won't have to worry about 500+ HP with the Stillen SC.

Re: Rear diff for supercharger??

There are a couple of people running the stillen kit with the stock rear diff. And I havnt heard of anyone blowing one up yet even with 400rwhp.

someone had asked Kyle@Stillen about this and he had a great response. I don't remember much about it but ask him. He is a member on here and very informative. Shoot him a PM.

Re: Rear diff for supercharger??

Re: Rear diff for supercharger??

I am thinking about 400 HP. I won't be upgrading or anything after that. 400hp is more than enough, and I think that 6 psi is all that I trust with the motor. I need it to still be reliable (daily driver) and last me for a long time, so 6 psi with 400hp is all I really think is good. I will ask Kyle about it.

You think?? Can you please explain? I really am concerned with reliablility, as this is my only vehicle. I need it to last a long time, and hope not to run into any problems. Can you give me your concerns, thoughts, ideas on running a SC in my daily driver? I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Do you have a SC on your truck? Or did your rear diff just fail?

Re: Rear diff for supercharger??

No super charger and no heavy towing. I have never taken better care of a vehicle in my life. Still love my truck, just don't know if I trust it anymore.rear-diff-supercharger-dsc00613.jpg

I don't have any experience other than my 02 Nissan Frontier SC. That motor was built to handle a supercharger. It had special pistons, connecting rods, fuel pump, different ECU, engine cooling etc to handle the extra boost. I guess you can add an SC to any motor but I personally would be afraid of reliability issues on a motor that wasn't built to be boosted.
