getting ready to purchase a PRG kit here within the next day or so...but just curious.....
i really don't have ANY tools whatsoever here at school, and i know i wont be able to wait for spring break to come home (even at home, i dont have access to anything more than your most basic tools)
so would probably be looking at having someone else, probably a local shop, do my install.
question is, about how much do you think it'll cost me to have the kit put in??
from what i understand the actual install only takes near an hour and a half or so for the average buyer, so a shop im sure could get it done in an hour???
just curious for a ballpark figure...i dont wanna buy this thing and have it sit around 'cuz i cant have it installed!
also, post install, all i need is your everyday alignment correct??
T.I.A. guys, had my eyes on a leveling kit for quite sometime now!
You could go and buy a few tools, a jackstand, and a torque wrench for less than a hundred dollars and do it yourself. Then you would still have the tools. It is really really easy. All you need is a couple wrenches, sockets, and pliers for the cotter pin. I think that is about it. It has been a couple months since I put mine on.
Yeah, like Helomech said. However, you don't even need a buy TQ wrench.
I watched Greg do mine and he had it done in about 10-minutes for both sides. A small sledge hammer to pop off the spindle, 3 different sized sockets for sway bar link and strut assembly, a 1/2" ratchet, 2 different wrenches, a good floor jack, a jackstand and your good to go.
If you can turn a wrench, it's not that hard to put on. The dealer is going to charge you at least an hour worth of shop labor. Plus, from my experience, your lug nuts will either be loose or too tight or a combination of that as well.

I'll bet there are plenty of tt members in houston that would help you out for a case of suds. Go to the Texas section of the forum and put the word out on the street. You could also offer to bring some of your friends from your avatar.

Besides, it's hard to beat that feeling you get when you look at the lifted truck that YOU yourself and perhaps a few buddies lifted on a weekend. GOod luck!

I agree with Vegas there.. I think I recall someone say VSHORT was going to help him but could'nt wait to find a available weekend. I think some suds and a PM to him or post in the Texas fourm should get you rolling pretty quickly
