I believe its the clear plastic bumping the hard plastic piece. Try some double sided tape. I had the same issue.

Mine does the same thing....I have to take the time and pull it apart and install some foam gasket or something.

Re: Chirping noise from instrument panel above sterring wheel

mine has made that same noise since day 1 and it now has 7000 miles on it but mine sounds like it's in the dash somewhere, and can't here it till 60 mph or more. just came back from vacation so i was on interstate alot running 70-80 mph and it chriped alot but it seemed alot worse when like a gust of wind blew? so i thought maybe its underneath the truck where it's coming from ? i just don't know ? no use to take it to the dealer because they just drive it around town a little, you have to have speed before you hear it. so i don't know if it's the plastic cover over insturment panel or not ? i would think if it's that you would here it at any speed ?

If you guys have a bug shield, try removing it. Worked for me.

I stuffed some foam rubber weather stripping in the gap between the clear guage cluster plastic and the upper lip of the dashboard. This resolved the noise after the dealer did a fix which was good for a few days. The inserted a screw to tighten down the clear plastic.

Sounds like y'all have a cricket problem

Seriously, try to isolate the chirp, and then put some whether stirpping between the two offending pieces of plastic, then you should be good to go.

Re: Chirping noise from instrument panel above sterring wheel

I had a similar noise. Seemed to be speed related (only above 60 or so) and also temperature related. Colder it got, the more frequent and louder it became. Wind gusts also seemed to effect it, ie from passing semis. Try wiping some spray silicone on the weather strip at the back of the engine compartment that seals against the back edge of the hood. Mine was getting very annoying and went away completely after doing the above.
