Question Tonneau Cover Removal / Storage

As you can see I have a solid ARE tonneau cover. I haven't taken it off since it was put on last year. Is there an easy way to take these off, and store it for a few weeks?

Thanks

Re: Tonneau Cover Removal / Storage

I have one too and I was told it was removable... I haven't taken my completely off the truck, but I have unscrewed the back supports to slide my bed extender back in after the hard top was installed.

If you look, it is only 4 screws that hold that in the truck... remove and have a strong person on each side, lift and walk towards the back of the truck.

I would mark with tape the location of the mounts before you remove it.

Re: Tonneau Cover Removal / Storage

I also have an ARE LSII tonneau, and have removed it twice now. It's not hard at all...like autostnmn said, there's just 4 screws to take off (they're Torx head screws...I think it's a #30). Use a small flathead screwdriver to pop the caps off of the 4 brackets to expose the screws. Make sure to grab the clips that slide into the utilitrack!

Be careful when you're reinstalling it. I cracked one of the 4 brackets when I was reinstalling it because it was about 5 degrees when I did it and the plastic was brittle (NOTE: DON'T reinstall it when it's 5 degrees...that bed is COLD!)

Re: Tonneau Cover Removal / Storage

I have the same and before i removed mine I made marks on the rails as to where the clamps where installed...so that when I put the cover back on it fits perfectly the first time with no need of tweaking.
