What are my options

Went on a Nissan site where you can build your truck an it will give you a price just to to get a idea what it would cost. When I selected 4x4 offroad it said to get this I would also have to get the towing package which I dont want.Has it always been this way,is this something new or is this a mistake.

I had the same problem... it probably has to do with the Nav system. If you add that to your list of options it automatically adds the Tow package. I had the same problem, the Fleet MGR that I worked with spoke to the Nissan HQ, with me in the room, and he was told there is no possible way to order them separately. It might also be true if adding DVD system.

I thought I had heard people on this site say they had the offroad package with no BT.Maybe it was previous models and then again I may be mistaken.

Re: What are my options

Can I ask why you wouldn't want the Big Tow? Isn't the invoice price on the Big Tow only around $4-500? I'd imagine that a towing option would be a major re-selling point and you never know...you could very well end up using it. You do know that you get the big mirrors, bigger alternator, bigger battery, and a tranny cooler right? The rear end ratio doesn't matter cuz you get that with Off-Road pkg anyway.

Re: What are my options

I wanted a sunroof in my truck. But in order to get the roof, you HAD to get the DVD/NAV with it ($5,000 extra) . I didn't want the DVD/NAV..just the sunroof........no such thing said the dealer. Whatever........the aftermarket roofs are better anyway. Take a look at "rcantu's" roof. It rocks.

All Titans have the tranny cooler. ITs not extra on the tow package. Yes, Nissan makes you buy options you dont want to get other options. All manufactures do this, it sucks, but thats the way it is. I wouldnt get any options. My truck came with nothing except floor mats and I couldnt be happier. it will go anywhere I need it to go, and tow or haul anything i want it to.

My '04 is Off Road w/out big tow. Kinda sucks, wish I had it too. Have to get an aftermarket hitch.

I didn't get the tow package on mine because I have a very tight garage, and the mirrors just wouldn't fit. Currently, I am not towing anything, but I can always add the OEM hitch to tow a boat or something later on (7200lbs is plenty to tow with a half ton IMO). I agree though, if my side clearence wasn't an issue, I would have gotten the tow package from the factory, can't beat it for $400.

why add the overpriced OEM hitch? there are many aftermarket ones available.

I think for 06 I heard you have to get the Tow Package with Off Road, the proabally figure your already getting the lower gearing, and the heavy duty battery and what ever else so they may as well throw the hitch and mirrors on, but they still charge you the same price for each option even though some things over lap like the gearing and battery so you are paying for those twice.

Nope, the O6s do not require the Tow Pkg with the Off-Road. I just ordered mine, and the OR did not add TOW. SKEET, check and see if you are aksing for the NAV or DVD, I'm pretty sure that is the reason they are putting the Tow Package on the truck. I have attached my order for reference.

I would like the bt if it were not for the mirrors and I really dont need offroad package but I like the wheels and I think they will ride better than the 18s.
