So many problems! But not with the Titan

I’m so disappointed in this truck! I just passed 28,000 miles on my 2004 LE CC with all the options….. Navigation, DVD, Sunroof, Leather etc., etc.

After 28,000 miles here is my problem:

The truck runs perfect. No flaws, no noises, no anything. I did have the brake upgrade done with no hassle from the dealer (and I was not even having any problems). They also replaced my bed because of some bubbles in the spray on liner. I got a 2005 bed with tailgate assist. They did a great job.

My dealer could not be more cooperative and polite unless she was my Mom.

My tires are the original and still have lots of tread on them AND my dealer gives lifetime tire replacement when you buy from them.

I get 15 MPG back and forth to work and 17.5 on my trips of 200 miles or more. When I tow, it’s about 13 (light trailers maybe 2-3000 lbs).

I have been disappointed with all the petty complaints on Titan Talk over the last few months and thought that someone would like to hear from a very happy owner.

I mean really! I don’t think a valid complaint on any vehicle is “my oil filter is hard to get to” or “My transmission dip stick has a bolt on it. How do I check it?!” or “my truck loves a certain oil” (trucks don’t love bunky!) and the best one is the sky is falling because someone wants to outlaw brush guards. Do you have any idea how many ordinances and laws are presented, but will never pass?

I agree with whoever wrote the thread about how many Titans were built vs. actual problems. I believe the majority are satisfied. This site is becoming GM’s best friend.

Now before you get all in a huff here, I understand that some people have legitimate problems. Realistically you cannot expect anything manmade to be perfect every time. For crying’ out loud, the Shuttle blew up (twice) God rest their souls. They were a lot more expensive than a Titan.

OK I vented….. I feel much better now. I am ready for the criticism that is sure to come at me. One more thing, USE A SPELL CHECKER PLEASE! (I said please).

Re: So many problems! But not with the Titan

I couldn't agree with you more.

What gets me is that some people start to worry about a problem they don't even have but read it on TT. I have only 21,000 on my truck and the only issue I had was the brakes. It's was fixed a couple of times before the final fix was done. My service guy couldn't be better too...it's all good in my opinion. Yes I have an 04 and love it!

The only thing I don't like is I keep wanting something else (mod wise). I still want an intake, PRG traction bars, N-Fab bars, a DVD system....

Cool, good post. Im glad i didnt get the factory spray in bed-liner. The rhino -liner guy told me Nissan had problems with it and its quite an expensive option as part of the utility bed package.

Titans Suck.

I'm setting up a titan recycling center at my house. Feel free to pm for directions and drop yours off. Lifted titans preferred.

Re: So many problems! But not with the Titan

I, also am sick of all the whining on here. Granted I have only been here for 4 months but it seems to be getting worse.

Like I have posted before my buddy has an '04 and didn't even know about the brake TSB or problems with the rear end until I told him. He has 20K now.

I have already stated that my rear end will never go out. If the Titan owner with the supercharger can't break it I sure doubt that I can.

If I were a potential owner and read things on this forum I would run to another truck maker.

I bought my Titan without even driving it. I never even drove my buddies Titan. I read some reviews on them and that was enough for me. I have already owned Chevys, Fords, Toyotas. I could write a huge list of complaints about all of them. I must admit I have never owned a Dodge. Most likely because the local tranny shop says they are 80% of his business.

My Titan is the nicest vehicle I have ever owned.

Just my .02

Re: So many problems! But not with the Titan

Yeah, that's why I never considered buying a Dodge Ram....lots of tranny problems. A Ford 150? Nope, I don't want the cruise control shorting out and burning the house down. Sorry, I forgot. I think they finally fixed that problem on the new ones. Chevy? Nah, it's an OLD dated design and they charge you extra for their 300hp 5.3L which still doesn't measure up the base engine in the Titan. You have to step up to an LT (more $$$$) to get the 345hp 6.0L, which on paper, is comparable to the Endurance. It was either a Toyota Tacoma/Tundra or the Nissan Titan for me.

It seems people like to complain about the most trivial of things. As long as the important things like the drivetrain hold up, I guess that's what really counts in the end.

What ever happened to that guy who said his engine blew up or something? I think he was from the Las Vegas area. I initially thought the post was legit, but now I'm not so sure.

I get the feeling sometimes that we have people from the competition posting on here and pretending to have problems with their "imaginary" Titans just to stir things up.

Re: So many problems! But not with the Titan

I like coming to TitanTalk and reading about all the "problems".
It re-affirms that I made the right decision by trading in my 2004 Titan for a
new 2004 Dodge Ram Hemi.
While I liked the Titan, it was one of the most disaapointing new vehicles I've ever owned. 22,000 miles in 9 months was enough for me.
36,500 miles in 16 months on the Ram and not a single issue and I drive it alot harder than I did the Titan.
I expected some of the "minor" problems because of the 1st year production.
I agree that people b!tching about oil filter fitment, and some other trivial items, is a bit over the top.
I'm surprised your mud flap didn't fall off yet- you must have got the really good double sided tape on you 2004.
