Decision Time...HELP please

Hey guys, although I am brand new here I am familiar with these forums. I want to thank you all in advance for your time and knowledge with this!

I have spent the last 25 years in either a Jeep or a Ford...before that all my dad had were Fords. We have been a faithful ford family lol. BUT...the time has come. I have a '78 Bronco that will be being retired from DD status and will get worked over a bit for some more interesting off road stuff.

So, this move has lead me to this Titan and I am looking for any advice, thoughts, problems, fixes, bugs...whatever ANYTHING that I should be aware of...so:

2008 Nissan Titan XE
VIN: 1N6AA07C28N353045
210K Miles (was used as a delivery truck by a business I was told)
Asking price: $11,900

Pics can be seen here: Titan SuperMotors

Thanks again guys...supposed to be closing this deal in the next day or two... :P

Re: Decision Time...HELP please

Thats way too much for 210k miles. There are going to be insane issues. Keep looking, the right one is out there.

Re: Decision Time...HELP please

Sounds like a lot of money for that many miles...

It is a super nice, clean lookin' rig for sure.

Whats the warranty? How long, whats it cover?
Nissan Dealer or independent?
Unless the warranty is in writing without sneaky wording, and exceptional, I'd go in at about 8,000 and see what they come back at.

Kbb Private party good is 7400, very good is 8700. I do'nt consider a non "brand you are buying" dealer a "dealer" pricing scenario... id go closer to private party. If you were going to a Nissan dealer...that'd be a little more.

Average trade in on that model with those miles is 6200.. max 7400 ..if you pay 11,900.. they will make 4500 on it minimum. For that they should have changed all the fluids, put new tires on it and give you a considerable extended warranty..

Advice... do not trust any dealer ever... have them pull one front and one rear wheel in front of you. Look at CV shaft boots, axle housing seals, transfer case seals... look at the coolant level (green or blue.. should be blue), look for any kind of stop leak in the coolant reservoir (brown or silver sludge) look at the air filter see if its new or gunked up, look at the oil cap for condensation (brown milky appearance), ask for service records... if they don't have clear ones.. assume it wasn't serviced regularly and that you'll be changing all the fluids immediately. put it in 4wd and listen. try the locker (straight line only if its dry surface)... try every button and feature.. every one.. all the windows(known window reg issues), all the door handles inside and out.. locks, power seats.. etc
Get it on the highway.. any rear end whine or noise at all.. skip it...
Do not skip looking at anything.. they all take in a trade for the least money they can pay, then sell it for as much as they can get...

I just bought a 2012 Certified...they docmumented services, put them on carfax and everything... got it home to find they lied about every service, every fluid change(not a drian plug touched on anythign but the oil pain), and never did any inspection of the vehicle at all(no e-brake, backup lamp out).. they put brake rotors on and washed it.. nothing more(not even the filthy air filter)...I've got hours in doing what they should have. I should take my own advice.

unless its family... they all lie to get as much $$ as possible.

Re: Decision Time...HELP please

Know that you will get between 11 and 13mpg .. rarely better.. ever.

They are really nice, really powerful, beautiful to drive trucks... even with the screwjob and BS I got from the dealer I love mine.. had it two months now.

Re: Decision Time...HELP please

Good call on the gas mileage. I averaged about 11-12 here at altitude in CO.

Re: Decision Time...HELP please

Had I researched more, and found that out before hand, it might have changed my mind.
That said.. I'm glad I bought it.. its worth it on fun factor alone.

Re: Decision Time...HELP please

LOL...well considering that my '78 Bronco with the built 400 and 4 barrel conversion got about 6 (on a good day), I'll take 11

I haven't physically even seen this truck yet other than the pics that are on SuperMotors, those were taken right off their site. It is an independent dealer (I have done business with them in the past with satisfactory outcome), they are quite small and rarely have more than maybe 15 cars on their lot at a time. I will be going to take a look at it hoping tomorrow but probably Wednesday. When I get there and get it looked over I will have more room to make a counter offer to their asking price. I thought it seemed high too until I got to pricing them around where I live and it is actually one of the "cheaper" ones that I could find but yet the cleanest looking. Hopefully that is a good thing lol

Thanks for the input everyone, keep it coming! If anyone knows of any mechanical issues other than Radiator (and the "routine" maintenance stuff) that would be something to see when I go look at it? What should I look for? I will crawl under and over it to see what I need to lol...I am not shy, it's my money

Re: Decision Time...HELP please

Here is the important question lol...will a 47.5" wide 4 wheeler fit in the bed by chance or should I skip this and move on to the Dodge Ram 2500?

Re: Decision Time...HELP please

And.. am I going to try and fit it in my garage? ...hehehe its 20" longer and 7" wider than my 2002 Sequoia was.. and that was kinda tight...it fit..

It's almost the same width(79.5 vs 79.3") as your Bronc, but 44" longer. (224.6 vs 180.3) (unless its a CC Long box @244.2)

Titan fun factor is proof that other trucks have no soul.
