Changing rear diff today

I have 3600 miles on her, and in 8 days she's going on a 2400 mile round trip to Disneyland. I bought a gallon of Redline 80w 140 synthetic. The specs call for 75w 140. Is this a good product? and is going from 75 to 80 a big deal?

Re: Changing rear diff today

The weight, or viscosity is in reference to an oils "sticky-ness" and usually mistaken for an oils "thickness"....it's best to stay within a manufacters recommendations but to me, it's all just lube.

Redline is a good product I was using it myself I wouldnt worry about the 80w rating if you already paid for it in my opinion I think the synthetic part is the key.

Just snug it up, like it's been done since the invention of the wrench.

Re: Changing rear diff today

Well it's a done deal now. No metal on the plug at all. I even sifted through the oil. It was pretty black although.
