Lightbulb what am i missing out on? 4x4 texas edition what options am i missing?

I have a 2006 4x4 cc Titan is the Texas edition. I know i dont have the e-locker, and my truck didnt came with a tow hitch, but it has the "tow mode" switch??? what that the tow mode does? Also when i peel off a light turns on in the dash that says "slip", is the truck equipped (sp) with anti-slip mechanism i dont seem to have a switch to turn it off.
Can some one pls tell me what am i missing out by not having the e-locker? I dont plan to do alot of off-roading but eventually i will get her dirty and muddy, also i dont plan on towing anything @ LEAST FOR THE NEXT 5YRS dont have the money to buy it.
When the truck is running on 2 wheel mode does it pulls with two wheels? (if i do a burn out would i leave 2 stripes or just one ) I love this truck is a beast.

The slip on/off button should be on the lower part of the radio bezel by the tow mode switch. Sh!t I can't remember WTF the button says. That feature is sometimes cool incase you loose traction the truck will correct itself by braking to the area that lost traction.

Re: what am i missing out on? 4x4 texas edition what options am i missing?

If you have the Trac Package you don't have a switch to turn it off. The tow mode button just keep the rpm a little higher. When in 2 wheel drive only one wheel spin if your doing a burn out, Titan have an open differential.
Also, are you sure it's 4x4? I though the Texas Edition only come as a 4x2 unless they change that for 06.

Re: what am i missing out on? 4x4 texas edition what options am i missing?

P's Titan is confusing VDC with ABLS. VDC applies the brakes and or cuts power to keep you from fish tailing etc. If you have it there is a switch near the tow mode switch.
As BBfanz says, there is no switch to turn of ABLS. It either works or it doesn't. Even when ABLS works the extra traction it provides is marginal.

You probably have the Trac Package like me, no button to turn it off, if it detect one wheel spinning, it apply the ABLS to give the other wheel some power.

He said a slip light comes on, isn't that the VDC ? When I turn it off and peel out around a corner that light does not come on. When the VDC is on the slip light comes on and it brakes to were it is slipping.

Please respond if I still am "confused"

According to the manual the slip light will come on if either the ABLS or VDC is engaged. If you have ABLS the slip light should come on if you have one wheel spinning. I have had the ABS replaced in both of my Titans because they either wore out(first Titan), or was bad from the factory(2nd Titan). My ABLS is engaged(slip light on) about 10 times a day while driving on the ranch. Sometimes for 30 seconds or more at a time.
Also, on my 04 the light said BSLIP, while on my 05 it just says SLIP.

Re: what am i missing out on? 4x4 texas edition what options am i missing?

From reading the difference thread and forums, not sure sure what the difference is but I know those with VDC package can turn it off, those that have the Trac Package are unable to turn it off.

I don't think you have the trac package either, I went to Nissan USA website and did a build your Titan thing. When selectng the trac package on a 4x4 they made me change to 4x2. You can only get VDC with the side airbag package.
