$380.00 to fill the tank!!

To fill the boat, that is!

Filled up this morning for a weekend trip. $3.45 a gallon x 110 gallons, plus another $69 to fill the truck. It will all be gone by Sunday afternoon!

But, it's still cheaper than the fancy hotel room my wife would want to stay in for the weekend if we didn't stay aboard the boat, and so it's worth it.

Plus, I drive an old Miata to work and back all week. More than makes up for it.

Re: $380.00 to fill the tank!!

It was $3.45 at a Chevron close to home. Costco is the cheapest around here at $3.09 for 87, but the line is 15 cars deep and I can't get the boat around their pumps.

Re: $380.00 to fill the tank!!

Man that is expensive. We are at about $2.70 a gallon for premium 91 octane. But like you said it will be cheaper to fill that up than pay for a hotel room, plus they always say "you have to pay to play"

The worst part of this is that it will get you about 220 miles?

Re: $380.00 to fill the tank!!

The last time I towed I measured about 8 MPG in the Titan (towing 8,400 lbs), but the boat I measure in gallons per day. Usually around 75 gallons per day if we are skiiing or cruising a long way. MPG in the boat is way less than 1, and it's only got the 6.2L engine.

Boy, that is painful. I guess I was being generous with 2 mpg.

Re: $380.00 to fill the tank!!

I'd put the cheaper stuff in if premium was $3.45. Here it's $3.24 and regular is about $3.10 or so.

Re: $380.00 to fill the tank!!

Judging by the looks of your truck(nice), boat(huge), and house(has palm trees!), does gas price even matter that much to you!?! Anyway, like colorado titan said, you have to pay to play.
