Undercover Tonneau Fit?

I had dealer install my Undercover with the bracket system for the util- rack and I am not sure about the fit towards the front of the cab. You guys that have this set up: does it look like the cover is not flush against the bed rails? My cover has at least a 1" gap from the front of the bad to the cover and sticks out on the sides more than I think it should. The fitment towrd the rear is fine. I have tried to tweak the front brackets, but there is not any movment or aligning to be done. I have been getting a bad vibration that sounds like it is coming from the top when I'm on the highway and traveling at 65-70 mph speeds. I think it is coming from the top (shuddering)? Anyone else having these issues?

Re: Undercover Tonneau Fit?

I would be interested in knowing this also, as I was planning on purchasing one soon. Hope someone has the answer.

Re: Undercover Tonneau Fit?

I have had the undercover on my 04 CC for about 2 months now, and I think that a little space at the front between the cab and the bed is normal...you have to have a bit of space to make room for the tabs that attach the cover to the rails. Also, look at the gasket along the front rail. I know that you are supposed to have it out, rather than under the cover, but it is such a flexible material that it vibrates very bad from the wind...I think this is what you are hearing. I simply tucked mine under the cover and hav ehad no problems with noise or leaking since.

Re: Undercover Tonneau Fit?

i just installed mine. i have allmost no space up front, after setting the gap in the back of the it. in fact, i had to put duct tape on the little circlips, as they rattled against the cab and wore through the paint. aside from that, the cover is awesome!

*edit: on a sidenote, i just got mine last week from Luke at www.truckalterations.com for $650 shipped. this was for a CC w/utilitrack.

Re: Undercover Tonneau Fit?

On my F150 I had the vibration problem so I called David Lyons at Undercover. He said that the fix for the noise is to trim about ¼ inch off the front seals flap, its hitting the back of the cab and causing the noise.

He was very helpful and had the answer right away. I saved his info in case I needed it again so here is the phone number 1-866-900-8800.

Re: Undercover Tonneau Fit?

Mine has almost no gap either. You can adjust the whole cover front to back, and side to side. When I first got mine own, I had it to far to the right, and it ended up rubbing the paint on the Left side. It's pretty easy to adjust. There is probably about 1 to 1.5 inches of play in all directions that you can adjust it.
