auto door locks

i have an 05 se cc and was very surprised to find that there is no auto door lock/unlock feature - you know, the feature that locks your doors automatically when you shift into D or reach 15mph and then unlock when you shift to park of turn the ignition off. i'm having the dealer check on this tomorrow because it just baffles me that a $30k vehicle wouldn't have that feature. also, i've noticed the fuel door is WAY to easy to open. it's like there is no preload or spring force holding it shut. not really a problem but doesn't seem like a design that would come from a world-class team of engineers. i would love to see a report/design-budget plan... some sort of info on how much $ Nissan had to design the titan and how they allocated dollars (eg, 20% engine design, 5% interior, 40% body design) and compare that to an average allocation for truck design. i like my titan so far, will know if i 'love' it after 70-80k miles.

Re: auto door locks

I hate the auto door lock crap.

I end up locking the keys in the running ignition because of that. And I hate unlocking the door everytime someone needs to get in.

At least with the titan you dont have to unlock the doors in order for someone to get out, my acura was that way.

The dealer can check for you but they can't do anything about it, it's not avaiable for the Titan. You can look into an aftermarket alarm that has this feature or KP Technology make a module to let you have this feature.

It's a feature usually reserved for the big 3 owners who don't have enough sense to hit the door lock button if they want their doors locked. Fuel door isn't preloaded enough? Man...people are turning into crybabies! What the he!! is happening to this friggin' world!!!

Re: auto door locks

Doesn't have it, and that's fine with me. I can find and operate the door lock button. I don't need a vehicle that wipes my butt for me.
