Oil pressure sending unit went bad today at 350 miles...scared the hell out me. Dealer said they should have one by Friday but said to go ahead and drive it. Something about doing 80 mph down the interstate and looking down to see no oil pressure...that is just wierd.

Your post raises a question for me. I have 600 miles on my 06 SE and it runs great but oil pressure never reaches the halfway mark on the guage. It lingers a needle width or two below. What kind of pressure do most of you report?

You need to check you oil level, and top it off if need be. It should hang right at center.
Taking her in tomorrow for the new sending unit. I hope this isn't the start of many trips back to the dealer. I have always bought Ford products...with the exception of my 84 CJ7. My last truck, 98 F150 had 124,000 miles on it and only thing that went prematurely was the pitman arm...developed an irritating squeak. Otherwise, she ran beautifully! I hope to say the same about this Nissan in 123,200 miles.
The Titan should easily see 200,000 miles. My sister got 247,000 out of a Stanza in 11 years and it still ran fine for the local guy who bought it for two more years after. She never had a major repair with it either.

Well, got the truck back today with the new oil press sending unit. Pulled into my driveway and gues what....oil pressure started freaking out on me again. WTF with my sending unit?? Doesn't appear to be any issue with the wiring harness that I can see.
Any ideas?? Will be calling the dealer back tomorrow for another look. Truck now has 915 miles....this kind of crap should not be happening.
Mine always sets a little bit above half. When I first start it up and drive, the oil pressure shoots up above three quarters and drops down when the truck shifts.
Sorry to hear about the problem hopefully they get it resolved soon.
Drove mine a couple miles today, looked down and the oil pressure guage was past H. Checked the oil, it was slightly low, filled it up but the guage remained on H. I drove it home, never came down. I checked it about 2 1/2 hrs after I got home, turned ignition to ON position---goes straight to H, cranked truck up--goes to H and stays?
Could this be my sending unit?
Called the dealership regarding this issue yesterday. They wrote down exactly what the guage was doing and when and said they were going to call Nissan "Tech Support" out in CA. Even at this dealer, there are a few people that have oil pressure pegging the high side as well as mine pegging the low side. Sounds like Nissan got screwed on that batch of sending units.
Hopefully the tech support guys can come up with something good.
I went to dealership w/ mine yesterday, and it IS the sending unit (part list is actually- oil pressure sensor) The part is on backorder according to the dealership and will notify me when it comes in. They called a few other dealerships to see if they could get one from them and the dealerships are not willing to let this particular part go because apparently dealerships are starting to see that this is becoming a common problem among Titans and need to keep them in stock for their own customers. So.......looks like this is not an isolated incident.

Nonsense.

I figured as much. Looked at Autozone and Advanced just to see if they had one yet and it is not currently available. Guess Nissan did get screwed on a huge batch of sending units. Just hope my oil pressure really doesn't screw up between now and the time this gets fixed. Would hate for the dealership to have to replace my truck because the motor seized up and I couldn't tell because my oil pressure guage was not reliable.
I'm w/ you on that one Boiler, my sentiments exactly. I wouldn't know if anything happened now b/c it's pegged out and never comes down. It will there A** if anything happens. I wouldn't like the inconvenience but wouldn't mind a new motor! LOL.....They gave me no indication as to when to expect a new sensor....WTF???? Seems odd that these things are all going out about the same time, don't you think? I logged on here the other night in a panic and first thing I came across was YOU having the same type issue, yours shows no pressure and mine shows off the scale pressure, but ultimately same piece went out!!!!! Interesting to me. Even though I hate that you are having this issue, it sure made me feel better knowing someone else was experiencing this same issue at the same time as I was. It kinda reassured me that it was a NIssan thing and not just something I could have contributed too, you know????
Anyway, lets hope you and I both get this resolved soon and without any more failures!!!!!!!!
