My seatbelt is trying to kill me

Hey,

I wanted to know if any of you guys have any issues with your seatbelt.

With mine, it locks up at random times and it won't release until I pull on it a few times. It's really aggravating....especially when I'm driving on the highway and I need to turn in my seat to see behind me to change lanes and I can't move cause the seatbelt won't release.

I had the seatbelt replaced, but it's still doing it. I know that the locking seatbelt is a safety feature, but I have never driven anything with a seatbelt that acted like this.

If you see a titan driving by with a crazy guy thrashing around in the drivers seat, wave hi cause it's probably me fighting with my seatbelt.

Thanks

Re: My seatbelt is trying to kill me

same problem.

Even just getting in and putting it on before im even in drive it will lock.

When slowing to a stop at an intersection, right when I want to be leaning forward to see who's comming it locks me to the seat.

Adjust your mirrors properly and you won't need to turn around before you change lanes.

My belts do the same thing. All my other vehicles aren't as sensitive.

try to move with your foot off of the brake pedal. It will move more easily.

Re: My seatbelt is trying to kill me

Clint, I'm located in South Jersey. If I have a free hand while battling the seatbelt, I'll wave back.

The seatbelt sucks. If I push too hard on the gas, SOMETIMES it locks. If I push too hard on the brakes, SOMETIMES it locks. SOMETIMES, it will just stay locked until I fight with it. SOMESTIMES, it just locks for no reason (no hard braking or speeding).

The way I usually get it too loosen is to suck my chest in as far as I can to let the seatbelt retract in even more and it will usually release at that point.

Coming to an intersection where I have the stop sign and I have to lean up to see both ways before crossing is the worst.

The new seatbelt they put in for me didn't seem as bad at first, but after a couple weeks, it's just as bad.

If this is normal operation, I wonder why did the dealership ordered me a new seatbelt, no questions asked. All I said was it's choking me and they ordered it.

Re: My seatbelt is trying to kill me

Same prob. here, it's def. more sensitive then any other vehicle I've had, but I got use to it and can hardly even notice it anymore, the wife on the other hand hates it.

Mine locks up when I get on it. Guess it's trying to hold me in place. LOL

Hmm must be a south Jersey thing...I've had 4 of the 6 seatbelts replaced in my truck and a 5th one that they can never get to reproduce that I have a video of it stuck locking now so i can bring that in for yet another repair
