Do I have limited slip

I thought in 05 the Titans came standard with limited slip but in 04 it was a option, may be wrong but anyway my question is do I have limited slip. From a dead stop on a dirt road if I take off both tires spin, does this mean I have limited slip.

You do not have a (real) limited slip ... what you have is abls , it is a brake type lsd thru the abs system,,,,,you can now add a tru lsd diffy ,,, the tru trac like i did and Nissan should have done from the factory , but i guess that is what keep the aftermarket guys is bussiness

I know i dont, because if i am not easy with the throttle, i leave rubber at every stop light, wet or dry. I am just waiting for a cop to nail me.

Re: Do I have limited slip

As mentioned already, no Titan has a limited slip rear end. Nissan offers Active Brake Limited Slip. In 2004, all 4X4s came with front AND rear ABLS. And SE 4X2s with the OR pkg had rear ABLS. What was standard across the Titan line in 2004 was EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) & BA (Brake Assist) which weren't standard after 2004.

Silly, I have it and along with the vdc has saved my butt a few times.
Should be standard on all large vehicles.

Re: Do I have limited slip

It should be easy to tell if you have ABLS. First, when your tires spin the slip light should come on in your dash letting you know that it is activated.Second, since ABLS is controlled by the ABS you should hear it engage as the ABS unit is located in front of your dash in the engine bay. also, I have never seen or heard of a 4X4 without ABLS. ABLS is more of a gimmick and barely works.

It actually does work quite well for what it is...just not as good as a real, good limited slip. I think it works better on the front while in 4WD though...at least that's been my experience in slippery conditions.
