Four Wheeler Magazine Project Titan

I searched but nothing came up on this item (or may be I missed the thread altogether).

Has anyone ready or heard/seen this project Titan?

I met a man (Jack Shelton) at a meeting yesterday and he's one of the judges in the Top Truck Contest at Hollister, CA, where they just finished the contest. He said the Titan was there but did not compete in the contest, although it scored pretty well in the articulation department, climbing on top of another truck. He will send me pictures of that climb.

Here's the build up story of that Project Titan: http://www.fourwheeler.com/projectbu...ect/index.html

It's amazing what's has gone into this Titan: 40" tires, Dynatrac 60 axles, Detroit lockers, Atlas Transfer case, etc.

Weird, I didn't get any results on my search. Guess this is old news. I'm so far behind on this info!

I can't recall the threads, but those pictures have been posted here once or twice. Good try finding new info though!

Re: Four Wheeler Magazine Project Titan

The Project you are refering to is our Mega Titan. We have a few more things to do to it before we can say it's finished. It works well so far.
Here is a link to the Shop that built it for us.

Re: Four Wheeler Magazine Project Titan

Preproduction means exactly what it says. This truck was built before the Titan went into production.
Here is how it works: every vehicle manufacturer has to build a bunch or vehicles during the set-up of the assembly line. These vehicles are not perfect and cannot be sold the the public. We call them PT1 and PT 2 vehicles. They don't even have Vin #'s. So the manufacturer loans them out to magaznes and other places to get marketing value from them. They put a MFR licence plate on them and lease them out. Typically these loans last 1 year, then the vehicle has to be crushed. We don't like the idea of a perfectly good truck getting crushed, so we negociate a contract to purchase the vehicle from the manufacturer for a dollar. The only catch is we can never regester them at the DMV or drive them on legal road ways. So the truck has to be green stickered and towed from place to place. Not a bad deal if you like off roading.

Re: Four Wheeler Magazine Project Titan

Currently the motor is stock except for a Jet computer upgrade. We have plans to install the Stillen Stage 2 Supercharger soon though.
