Last night i was at the light at the bottom of my hill and when the light turned green i gave it gas and BOOM! I was like what the f**k was that. I looked around and thought maybe some punk through something at my truck or someone hit me but i didn't see anybody. Well as i was going up the hill this clunking noise from the rearend was tremendously loud. I knew then that my diff had gone. So i call the dealership this morning and they said get it in here and i told them that i didn't think i could make it. The dealership is about 15 miles away. Well i drove slow and couldn't wait till i got to the dealership and when i get there the service manager is waiting for me so he can look at it. He gets in it and when he puts it in gear the damn truck doesn't clunk for him i told him to take it for a ride and as he is backing up the rearend totally goes. He then looks at me and says what did u do? I said nothing just drove it. He was kidding by the way. So we go into the shop and he looks up a new rearend on the computer and sees that there is no rearends available so he is like what the f**k! So he tells me he has no idea when my truck will be up and running and they give me a loaner. They have no trucks to give out so i get a 2006 altima. I am not very pleased but i will take it atleast i will get better gas mileage while i have it. So i am not sure when my truck will get completed. Has anybody else heard that the rearends are tough to get? Well i just hope she gets fixed and that is all the problems that I will have with it. I can't complain that is the only real serious problem other than the brakes but they are no longer a problem.

Damn love your avatar... :P Once you get 500-800 miles on the new rear end ditch the ****TY A$$ open differential and order a Detroit TruTrac differential it's better in every aspect for towing, racing, taking tons of abuse it's bulletproof compared to the crap that nissan puts in.. just read up on it in the Performance mods sections probably atleast 60+ titan owners have already installed it and it KICKS A$$!!

Upcoming Turbo Install coming this July!!
Will consist of a
Garrett GT4094R Ball bearing turbo, Tial 60mm Wastegate, Tial 50mm "Q" Blow off valve, Spearco Intercooler, etc...
Sorry to hear that. Can you tell us what mileage you had, 4X4, did you tow, if so, how much etc? Thanks. It seems like most people with rear end troubles DON'T TOW....which is really strange to me.

the TrueTrack will run about $500-550 depending on if you get new carrier bearings with it and shipping costs vary. From all the other posts on here, installation will run about $200-250. Total cost will then vary from $700-$800.

Why go HALF-WAY with a HEMI when you can rotate the Earth with a TITAN!!
if you get a trutrac does it void the powertrain warranty?
Sorry to hear about your rear diff. Since you have the 04 does Nissan put on a new rear diff or is it an 04 style? Im just wondering.

Good to know if it happens.. I guess if I save up 800 and it doesnt void my warranty I dont see why I couldnt get at Trutrac down the road.

if you get the truetrac there will be nothing to break in the rear...believe it or not the titan has a strong rear employing huge 32 spline axles and almost a 9" inch ring gear...the weak link is the spider gears in the e-locked titans...ive got 30,000 miles on my titan and ive tried multiple times to break something even before the truetrac with NO LUCK...sorry about your rear! hopefully they will get it fixed fast....

Had you used the rear dif. lock lately. After I used mine, I could tell it didn't unlock immediately. Soon after, no more rear.
When I used mine I had the same problem with the diff not unlocking. When I went back to the dealership, they told me to go in reverse about 15 feet after I try to unlock it. Never really had to use it again so I don't know if that works. Just a suggestion
That sucks bra! Hope you get your truck back soon and in the exact same condition you took it there in ( minus the broked diff of course). You know what I mean, no dents, dings, scratches etc. More and more these differential failures are starting to worry me. Moreso because I'm getting rid of my Hemi Magnum and buying a SRT-10, and my wife will be driving my Titan everyday with our kids in the truck. I don't want them to get stuck on the side the road with a broken diff, so maybe I can convince her this mod is a good safeguard, not to mention I can have fun wit too. Anyone know how much it would be with shipping to Hawaii? Aloha
No wonder I haven't seen you online, you have been crying over some beers. Guess you will have to call up Clement and get some tickets to a game up here and bring the Alti on a road trip.
