Thinking of getting into an 06...

I got my LE 4X4 CC in 1/05 and have been very happy with it... at just over 30K miles I see myself coming up on a brake job ($300 - 500?), 30K service ($400) and some tires before long ($800).... I use my truck for work and really just have to balance out my monthly expenses (gas, pymt, tires, etc.) with my business partner... I am thinking I may just be able to get into an 06 before needing any of that stuff and come out ahead in the end (at least for now)...

A couple questions for you guys who keep up on this stuff or have been at the dealer lately;

-Can I pretty much expect KBB 'trade-in' value similar to when I got my Titan?

-What are the latest deals, rebates, amounts off of msrp, low interest rates, etc.? I would be looking for the exact same truck I have now - LE, CC, 4X4

-Do they make 'smoke' color in 06?

-Do the 'automatic' mirrors on the 06's have to done automatically or can I still just grab them and fold them in? On this one I am mostly thinking of the clown at the carwash that grabs them and pins them against my window before I can even talk to him.

-I have really had no problems on my 05 (other than brakes that were fixed right away the first time) and feel somewhat lucky... It seems that the problems on the 06's are even less common.... but it is in the back of my mind that since I got a 'good' truck am I foolish to roll the dice again?

Thanks for any input on any or all of the above...

Well I'm no expert, but I can give you my input.
I'm sure the dealer will want to sell you an '06, that's a given. But on the other hand they'll try to screw you out of KBB full price because of the high miles. Yes they do come in smoke color this year, I almost went with that color but opted for the granite instead (and I'm glad, doesn't show dirt and scratches as well). As far as I know there isn't an option for power folding mirrors, mine pulls out/in and fold in (but taking it to the carwash would scare me to death, I don't trust them guys). And lastly, my '06 came with a $1200 cash back incentive which I used toward the price of the vehicle.

Re: Thinking of getting into an 06...

You sound alot like I did about 2 months ago. Decided to trade my 03 Chevy in on a brand new 06 Titan LE CC in Smoke. You sound like I did and pretty much already have your mind set on what you want to do and are basically looking for support to give you that extra nudge to go buy it. Personally if I were you I would probably stay with your current truck. Unless there is something about your current truck that you dont like, it would be better to keep the one you have and eat the maintenance costs. You could probably still pick up the extended warranty if you are really concerned about that. Keep in mind your payment may stay the same, but you are starting over from day one again. Example: my payment only changed by $30 a month, but I now owe $34K instead of $14K. Dont ignore the bottom line by looking merely at your monthly payment. FYI $2250 rebates on Titan CC.
