Exclamation need Advice/Help

Hey all,
I traded in my 04 crew cab 4x4 on an F150 a little over a month ago. I regret getting rid of my titan. I get depressed when I pass a titan on the road. I went to a nissan dealer to "day dream" and they told me that they could give me a heck of a deal on a new crew cab 4x4 (trade F150). The titan stickered for 34700 and they have come down to 30,800 plus adding the fog lights. I'm was about ready to jump but they are giving me 2,000 less than my trade books for whole sale on kbb. Any ideas or advice. I know I'm going to lose money but don't want to get killed. My dad said I'm crazy for wanting to get another titan (problems with my 04) and for trading so soon. I just miss the way the titan drives and sounds. What would you do?
I would have to put a couple thousand down and it would raise my payment about $60 a month. I'd be going from 0% interest to 3%.
Help me out guys. I need your insight.

The only other way around it is to sell your ford outright and use the cash to pay it off. At least that way the you won't be quite as much in the hole.

What you really need to do is find out when the 07's are shipping then hit the dealerships for overstock 06's. On average they have about a 75 day supply of Titans. Good luck

Re: need Advice/Help

I went through a similar situation last week when dealing on a Titan. It was pretty easy to get them down to invoice (plus you keep the rebate or get the financing). But then they want to give you "black book" (a private system based on auction data) for your trade instead of blue book. KBB wholesale was $10,200 on my car and both dealers I went to wanted to give me $8000. After a bunch of negotiation where I came down to $9700 for my car, I told the first one no and left. The second one finally gave me $9700 as I was getting ready to walk. My advice

1) Take the emotion out of it. If you don't get the deal you want, go to another dealer. New Titans are a commodity - you can always find another one or wait for the 07s. The worst that can happen is that you drive your current truck a while longer.

2) Look at some of the calculators on line that compare the financing to the rebate. In most cases the rebate is better and there are some good new car loans at credit unions (mine has 4.75% for 48 months).

New vehicles are wonderful but once you decide you want to buy it worse than they want to sell it, you are going to pay more than you have to.

BTW - the first dealer I went to called me two days later wanting to give me $9700 for my car. I really enjoyed telling him that another dealer had already given me the deal he had turned down.

I guess the bright side is that you probably don't pass too many Titans in an F150.

Re: need Advice/Help

I don't think that is a "heck of a deal". I wouldn't touch that deal unless they will sell you the titan for invoice (at least within a few hundred of) and give you at least kbb trade in for your F150. I personally would drive the F150 for a while and at least get some of my money's worth out of it before trading. The F150 may not exactly be what you want but it was a few months ago and sometimes when you make your bed you just have to lie in it.
