Re: Recommendations for soft tonneau cover

I also LOVED my Truxedo Lo-Pro cover until somebody put a burn hole in it... nonetheless is it s an excellent product, I can't imagine a better tonneau. Easy to use, easy to install, easy to keep clean.

I work for a Nissan dealership, and we had NOTHING but trouble with them, the Support Bars are USELESS, you would be better off getting bamboo shoots and putting them under it, any little weight will bend the supports, the zippers pull apart.
I love Nissan Accessories, but this one is a Stinker, I can not honestly sell it to any customers, I immediately push them towards a Truxedo, or a Retrax, but I will let them leave before selling them the Nissan Soft Tonneau Cover.

I have been looking at covers for a while now and I think I like the extang RT:

Extang RT

I just have to convince my wife that I NEED this. Will not be easy.

You seem pretty antimate about this one.... I'm still confused.... can you be specific at all ?? What do you mean by 'useless' ?? Mine have been working fine for 2 years..... Even made it through 6" of snow.... I know it's no high-end device but I'm curious (specifically) what problems people have had....

Re: Recommendations for soft tonneau cover

I wouldnt get a tonneau to boost milage. I hope that isn't the only reason you are getting it.

Nope, not just for mileage but to keep the home depot stuff dry on the way home. Some things that I wouldn't want in the cab I still want to keep dry.

Re: Recommendations for soft tonneau cover

I have an Extang BlackMax and I LOVE it. It's no drill and I didn't lost the functionality of the utilitrac. I bought mine from autoanything.com and paid $180.00 w/ free shipping. I've had it on for about 3 months now and been from West Virginia to Michigan and back more than once, in the heavy rain and never had anything get wet. Also looks great on the titan. I really like that the back bar comes off with just one quick snap of a button. Makes loading big stuff really easy.

Well you seem to be the exception to the rule, the support bars are flimsy, a heavy rain will bend them. we have an automatic car wash here, and if a truck has the nissan cover, we have to open it, or the pressure washer will bend the supports. I can not imagine what one of the northeast snow falls would do for it.

Re: Recommendations for soft tonneau cover

Another vote for the Access Lorado! Looks & functions great and can still use the Utilitrack.

Re: Recommendations for soft tonneau cover

I have to agree about the crappy support bars. I went out to find mine bent and a lake gathered in the toneau cover after a heavy rain storm.

It is amazing a company that makes such a great truck, can make such a crappy accessory. The soft tonneau cover from Nissan is JUNK!
I second this. I had it installed at the dealer when i bought the truck. The rails that hold the cover up are so weak that they cannot withstand a car wash without bending. They replaced the first cover and installed a new one. It has the same weak rails, and when i took it off this spring to clean in there i discovered that somehow it had been installed incorrectly and the edge of the cover rubbed a ridge into my paint below the back window. I'm still fighting with the dealer to get the paint fixed. DON'T waste your money on the Nissan cover.

This one looks nice, they only have listed for 04-05 Models, would it fit on the 06 Crew Cab?
