Cut off the JBA stainless chrome tip to reduce drone.

After running the new JBA catback for three weeks, it was time to make a decision about reducing the drone level. Today I decided to cut off 14" of tailpipe. Did it work? Hell yeah, the drone between 1600-1900 RPM is almost entirely gone! Doing this to the JBA catback worked even better than with the 18" Magnaflow and stock pipes I had on before. Cutting off the last 14" toned it down just a bit, more mellow and a touch deeper in tone. I'm 100% pleased with the results. Soundclips before and after, just some revs:

Mine has a slight drone at the same RPM's, but I don't consider it that bad. Too bad you had to lose the nice chrome tip.

I don't mind the stealth look. Here's an idea for you, add a Y pipe to the last section of exhaust and have dual JBA chrome exhaust tips. I know where you can buy an almost brand new JBA stainless chrome tip at a very reasonable price.

I replaced my stock muffler with a turbo muffler, Do you think cutting 14" of my tailpipe would help with drone ... thanks..........
