Howling/Whistling fuel fill up

I'm sure this has been discussed here before, but my search didn't turn up what I was looking for.

Does anyone else get a loud howling noise while filling up that increases in pitch as the level in the filler neck rises to the pump? This has been the case all 3 times I've filled my Titan. Do I have a plugged vent line or something that's forcing the venting to happen through the filler neck?

No problems, mine does it too. I think it's pretty common thing. Don't worry.

Same here. Mine whistles a pretty good tune...thought my truck was haunted.

I believe it's just the air exhausting from your tank, which is being replaced by gasoline.

Mine did it once, I think it was a REALLY hot day. I just whistled along with it.

Now, if you are good, you can change the tune by varying the flow of gas thru the nozzle and play different tunes. The way the Titan drinks up the gas we get plenty of practice.

Re: Howling/Whistling fuel fill up

Maybe I should take it to the dealer and see if I can get a free tank of gas out of him...

Re: Howling/Whistling fuel fill up

noticed that mine does it to this morning... and so did the fella at the pump next to me. It was a nice single pitch loud whine.

He was like "is that coming from the pump?" "nah, it's the truck"

A gas tank that whistles

This was a fairly recent thread. It's normal for some it seems. Mine doesn't do it though.
