Warranty work

I just dropped of my truck for some warranty work and first oil change. The warranty work was for the windshield washer fluid reservior. It had sprung a leak. The guy at the dealership said that they've replaced lots of these on the Titans, and some others too. Anyone else? I was surprised because I hadn't heard of this being an issue.

Re: Warranty work

Was to me too. He said something about them not being molded together very well? I'll try to find out more this afternoon when I go back to pick it up.

Remember though, if that's the worst thing to happen to your truck, you're doing great! lol

Re: Warranty work

Picked up the truck. Specifically what the guy said was there's a "grommet" problem with some Titans and Frontiers . This would be the grommet at the bottom rear of the tank where the motor/pump assembly connects to the tank. Apparently not a snug enough fit somehow, but he wouldn't elaborate more. On the plus side, the service guy is a Titan driver. After he told me that, I thought it'd be a good chance to talk to him about the cam bolts for the front. I think we'll be doing that on the next trip in to have the oil changed, and tires rotated. Sweet!

Is that normal for nissan to do? Or did you have to b*tch them out to get them for free?

Re: Warranty work

I went through one as well. Truck is about two months old. They had a production run problem. Mine is good now for one month.

There's a TSB out there that says they should, so in my opinion, they should. Don't think all do though. As for being a jerk to them, I'm not one to do that much. Usually catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I honestly think it just depends on the dealer, the person and the day as to whether you could get it done.

Vegas, they replaced the whole tank on mine, so I don't know what improvements they made. But, I'm glad to hear yours is holding. (pun intended)

Re: Warranty work

It's 05097. Here's a good link:

http://www.edmunds.com/maintenance/r...artner=edmunds

This was extracted putting in a 2006 King Cab LE 2WD, but the TSB isn't specific to that model.
