I notcied like corrosion or rust on the top of my truck when washing it yesterday...I had noticed it before like scratchyniess feeling of the paint but never really bothered with it but now its real rough and looks like it will be rust soon...anyone have this problem? ALso, will my warranty cover this?? I have 20K miles on the truck and thats bull...I remeber actually at like 2K miles noticing it but now its bad...it started from like glue or something like glue that came from the dealer...I was thinkin they left some of that protective coating stuff but nah its all messed up...took some pics, theyre not to clear cuz its not a huge spot but it looks like it can turn into something BAD....
Kinda looks like acid rain stains. But you arent in LA, maybe someone spilled something on the roof of your truck? Have you tried claying it to see if it would come out? Is it actually etched into the paint?

its like etched...its real rough and scratchy...feels like its rusting from under the paint but I dunno...
If it's actually rust that's occuring under the factory paint in that area, then it should be covered under warranty. However, trying to get the dealer to admit that it's actually a factory corrosion problem instead of some other kind of (wear and tear) paint flaw could be a problem.
I know rail dust contamination can have some of same affects. Small metallic particles get inbedded in the paint causing the clearcoat to fail in those spots. However, it actually looks like the metal is corroding from underneath the paint on yours.
Is it possible to lower the headerliner on that side to see if the roof is rusting from the inside? If so, then you'd have a clear-cut case for repair under warranty IMO.

1. paint damage due to acid (bird poop? ) or something like that
2. paint is burning off from the sun, clear coat is peeling. it doesn't take that long a on texas baked vehicle in dark shades of colors.

my parents got a chrysler 300 in black my brother has another black truck thats older than mine...I had a trans am in black before this...the paint has held up in each of em...nothing like this...u think warranty would cover though??
Yea it shouldn't be baked off even in south Texas heat on a one or two year old vehicle, my dad has a Dark Green 99 Durango which has spent most of its life sitting outside unwaxed in south Goergia and it still looks like new , sounds like a warrenty claim to me.
Try some windex and a soft cloth, and see if it comes off. If it does wax it throughly. Or you can try Maguires clean wax. Try those ideas first.

Looks like something acid has eaten through your paint...
I don't think they SHOULD warranty...as its probably from bird**** or some weird tree sap sitting on there a long time and eating through the paint.
Hopefully they will though.
