Utili-Track Cleats

Was just wondering...

Has anyone ever had their cleats stolen when left on the rails? Do you leave them on with no worries or do you store them after every use?

I used them for the first time today and the thought came to mind... I know I'd probably store mine after use, especially since I don't use them that often, but was just curious if it was something I should worry about or not.

Re: Utili-Track Cleats

Too easy for them to walk off. I store them in my bed tool box (locked.)

Re: Utili-Track Cleats

I'm thinkin' if a tailgate or spare tire can walk off so easily, cleats could practically run away.

Re: Utili-Track Cleats

I have a cover on the bed so when the tailgate is locked, everything is secure. I usually leave one on each side in the bed, but the rest are stored under the rear seat.

I am in the habbit of locking the tail gate and storing cleats in the tool box and keeping everything locked. I figure better safe than sorry, and I don't need the annoyance of not having what I need for work on hand to start a day. I need to sleep some time, and lifting a set of cleats will not set off the factory alarm in my truck (yes, I have tested this to see for myself when I brought it home).

Re: Utili-Track Cleats

I agree, they would be too hard to steal. I keep mine in the bin storage under the rear seat. I worry someone will steal the bed tray, though.

Re: Utili-Track Cleats

I leave 2 of mine in the bed, they get used all the time. Low crime area, not really worried about people walking off with them, although it would be easy.

Good call, never thought of anyone stealing them since there are no Titans in my neighborhood, but you never know...

Re: Utili-Track Cleats

Most theft doesn't occur because someone else wants it or can use it for themselves. They do it mostly to sell it for whatever personal addiction they have that requires $$$cash$$$. Hence, ANYTHING is fair game.

Re: Utili-Track Cleats

I leave mine in most of the time, just a couple. The others( I have 8 cleats...) get stored in the side box. I do take them off at events(Supercross) but around my area it seems like the only ones who notice or know anything about them are other Titan owners.

If some crack baby thinks he can get 25¢ for it at the scrap metal yard, he'll take them.

I have a locking cover and the tailgate is lock so I leave them on. I use to keep them under the seat storage before I got the cover.
