yeah it will work, i swapped mine from non-fog to fog it was pretty easy. you might also do a search for fog light install as it requires removing the stalk, but the stalks are all identical in how they fit.

Re: Foglights on with parking lights

I would love to do this mod this week, but have no idea what fuses I need to use, what relay to use (where to buy one), or how/where to mount the relay...

Also I don't understand how to remove the stalk but I'm going to try to figure it out. I don't have a service manual they want too much $$ for them...

Also this sounds like it will allow the foglights to be on with the highbeams? (as long as teh parking lights are on?)

Re: Foglights on with parking lights

yeah it should allow the fog lights to remain on with the highs as well, i did this mod in my celica before the Titan and it worked that way. I'm going to do this mod when i get home from work tonight.

I never reported back...I was able to remove the stalk...it has 2 lil clips that I had never noticed...never really paid attention...u click those AND THEN it slides right out...I still havent done the mod even though I have the fog lights HIDs now and all the stuff to do it...I kinda dont wanna run wire all the way to the figs and stuff like that so Im waiting...Im gonna look at my wiring diagrams if I can find em and see if there are/is a better connection(s) or an easier connection(s) like inside the cab...

Re: Foglights on with parking lights

Any updates? I still have no idea what parts to buy etc? your saying you have to run wires all the way to the foglights? What kind of relay are you going to use and where did you get it?

Where are you going to fish the wire through from the stalk to the foglights? What gauge wire will I need? This new wire will not actualy be powering the foglights will it?

Re: Foglights on with parking lights

man, that stinks! im getting fog lights installed on Monday at the dealer. you telling me that fogs will only work with the headlights on?... thats lame!
my Altima i traded in had the option of running fogs with running lights, which i always did on rainy days (daytime).

do u think that if i asked the dealer to do that mod while they are doing the install they will? i guess it wont hurt to ask them.

Thats what we are saying and I doubt they will modify the stalk for you or even understand how to do it.

I still havent done the mod... I recently sold my 9006 HIDs since I got the new housings and changed to H1 HIDs...the guy I sold the HIDs too also gave me his 9006 silverstars...I had to send back the housings cuz 2 LEDS wen tout and I havent even had em for a week (getting new ones sent to me) BUT Im cruising HID fogs and silverstar lows now...man it looks nasty... SO I think Im gonna HAVE to do this now... Ive only had the lows (silverstars) since last night but it wont be till next week that the new housings come in and I can run the HIDs again...sucks that noones reported if they could tap wires after the BCM instead of going all the way to the fogs or something...

Re: Foglights on with parking lights

Aight, I did the mod...didnt take too long...it sucked though since I got the fog HIDs and my remote start blinks the park lights when I remote start the truck so if I leave the fogs on it would be flashing my HIDs on and off (I dont think thats too good for HIDs, also since sometimes I leave the truck running remote started (lol) for a good 5-10 minutes...) Anyways the only kinda hard part was re progamming the remote start (theres like 20 steps) and alarm to keep the park lights on constant instead of blinking em... I wanted to instead of wiring to the park lights wire it to the speedometer lights (they only go on when u actually turn on the lights or park lights - when my park lights flash due to the alarm (remote start) they dont light) but I probed and probed and couldnt find the darn wire if there even is one that gave the 12V for illumination (there are like 30 wires back there)... well heres a pic...

Now I dont have to cruise the silverstars...no offense to the people with the silverstars but they just dont look good at all when next to the HIDs...it looks like I have yellow low beams (now with the silverstars) and well white fogs

Re: Foglights on with parking lights

SWEET!
now, hopefully i can have the mod shop do as good a job as u did.
the dealer put in my fogs, and shot down my idea to have them mod them. as expected. so next project will be the mod shop.
