Titan tailgates are the ugliest part of the truck! Soultions?

Hey guys/girls,
I love my truck but I would have to say that the huge tailgate handle assembly makes the back of my truck look ugly! I know that you can get a chrome overlay but I think that those draw even more attention to the ugliness. I like how some people have smoothed them out and painted them.

Does anyone know of a company that makes a handle relocation kit and skin to shave the handle off? I had one from sirmichaels.com on my last two trucks. Their stuff is great quality. I actually just emailed them to ask if they thought about making Titan parts.

I think the Titan has the nicest looking tailgate out there. Opinions are subjective, but I'm sure 90% of us think they look great.

Buy one a those chrome covers and paint it to match.

I'm probably going to smooth the whole assembly and handle then get them painted. I wish there was a handle flip kit to shave it though. Sir Michaels is the only company that comes to mind.

I personnally like it, its differant then the straight bland tailgates on most other trucks. I have scene a lot of people painting them body color in my area though and even moreso with the Frontiers.

This is more of what I had in mond for the tailgate. It doesn' seem that anyone has relocated their handles. Instead they use a pull cord. Kind of ghetto for me. I would have done that when I was 19, But not now. That's why I was wondering if anyone knew of a handle flip kit.

I didn't really care much for the whole black bib either (my truck is silver), so I bought the chrome accent and now I like it a lot. The shaved 'gate is pretty good looking though, the flat one is harder for me to like. I'm sure it'd be great with shaved sides and roll pan w/ lights there.

Tend to disagree with you on the Titan's tailgates have to be the ugliest tailgates around. I like how they look, they look aggressive..... But hey, you have a right to your opinion, I respect that.

Looks good on black. On any color it looks like a big black box floating around to me.

You gotta give Nissan some credit with these 'gates though, like 'em or not. As far as recognizing them as Nissan's, there's never a doubt. If that was their plan, it was well played.

I love the tailgate for the Titan because its so unique when you look at it from behind. You can tell its the nissan truck when driving behind others. Whenever its down, you have to guess if its a dodge or a chevy from behind until you see the side of the brake lights.

I like the big black "bib" on the Titans. It sets it apart from the others.
If it weren't for the bib it would look like a plain ole Ford or Chevy.
