Blind Spot?

Anyone else have problems with blocked visibility on a sharp left curve? Between the window shades and the roof supports I have a lot of my view blocked and have to tilt my head quite a bit to see.

I would not have installed window shades but the water drained off the roof onto my lap without them. No gutters??

I love this truck....a lot....just a few minor issues have come up.

Yeah, I have gotten used to peering around the A-pillar.

Re: Blind Spot?

Oh yeah, I've had small cars disappear at 4-way stop signs before. I'm always leaning way over to see around that titanic a-pillar. My only real gripe with the Titan....

Yeah the A-pillars are large, but you will get used to them, you'll also learn to roll your window up when it rains.

Re: Blind Spot?

haven't had a problem with that using the Big Tow mirrors. Didn't like them at first but glad I got them.

You may want to buy one of those little spot mirrors. We had to put those on all our work trucks because of that problem

Re: Blind Spot?

Yeah, the little convex stick on mirrors. Get some, they are great. I had a friend recommend them. I've had little cars riding in my blind spot that I can't see over my shoulder or in the regular mirror but I can see them fine in that little mirror.

Re: Blind Spot?

One time i had a Jetta that was hidden in that spot on the passager side that merged into my front tire. My truck is lifted and i coulnt even see them i an not sure how she didn't see me. It did no damage to my truck. My tire just ran along her back door it was a black car and it only made little scuffs of rubber. We pulled over looked and we relized that there was no real damage so we went on our ways.

Re: Blind Spot?

When I first got the Titan, I almost flatten a few little one (cars not kids). I have since learned, it take a little time but you'll get use to it.

Re: Blind Spot?

The big tow mirrors pretty much eliminate all of the usual blindspots but I think that Strike was referring to the blind spot that occurs at about 60 degrees to the left of straight ahead. No mirror is gonna fix it and the big tow mirrors just make it worse by hiding a larger area.

It isn't bad in the city because normally you are only interested in stuff straight ahead, directly to the side, and it doesn't effect lane changes because it isn't big enough to hide a vehicle that close but it really is a pain on narrow twisting mountain roads....the whole road will disappear behind the A-pillar! I have often found myself leaning all the way over the center console or practically sticking my head out the side window so that I can see what is up ahead on the road!

Re: Blind Spot?

You got it Hyperion!!

I live in the Appalachian Mountains and the problem is on curvy mountain roads with a curve to the left. I lose the road sometimes. The only other place I have a problem with it is on a cloverleaf on-ramp.

The others are right about the little bubble mirror....it is a MUST!

Yep, and it's even worse with vent visors...

I noticed this during the test drive and feel the same way. I'm getting used to swaying to and fro in the seat. I think it's Nissan's way of saying, "Firm up that flabby midsection you truck driving blobs!"....

Re: Blind Spot?

I'm glad Hyperion was reading correctly. Another thing I'd like to suggest for everyone, is get a 12" aftermarket mirror from the local autoparts dealer. I drive a CrewCab and now see all of the back windows, not just the middle one, cost about $20. The Safety Factor is worth it. Should be factory standard.

Red face Re: Blind Spot?

I am very concious of that A pillar and line up my turns accordingly.

You're right, it's an issue with the Titan for sure...
