Is it offroad or not.

Looked at a used 05 today and I dont know if it has the offroad package or not.It has the offroad sticker but it also has 18s on it.It has the tow hooks which I thought only came with the OR in 05.I drove it and at 60 mph it pulls 1500 rpms and I have read several times that with the lower gears that come with OR it will pull 1700 rpms at 60mph.Any way I can tell for sure.

Re: Is it offroad or not.

The skid plate up front is different - w/Off-road the plate comes up in front of the bumber a little and if you roll under and look there is an access door for the oli filter (not on non-OR). The rear shocks are diff too. I *think* the OR shocks are red/white...

My 04 non-off road has tow hooks, so that means nothing.

Re: Is it offroad or not.

Tow hooks aren't just on OR pkg ( I have them on my 06 SE CC BT). Best bet is probably to look if it has the the e-locker. Other items to check would be for rancho shocks and the extra skid plates

Re: Is it offroad or not.

Also - In 04/05 it was rare to see an OR truck that didn't also have big tow. Big Tow came with the gears, but I don't think it was in the OR package - so it coul dhave been an OR only (and the dealer swapped the 17" for someone else).

The ONLY reason I wish I'd had the OR was for the wheels. I don't like the tire selection with my 18's...

Opps - and the e-locker....

I thought about that myself but people put the 4x4 sticker on non OR Titans all the time, the radio has me wondering though because the face of the radio is still there but there is no radio behind it.A friend of mine runs a used car lot and he picked the truck up at the auction yesterday. The only reason I am considering the truck is because if I dont like it he will take it back to the auction and get rid of it which he has done for me before.I bought my 04 from him with no problems other than some squeaks which have been fixed so I dont feel like I will get stuck to bad.

Re: Is it offroad or not.

I bought mine new from the dealer and they had put the 4x4 offroad stickers on the truck even though it doesnt have the pack. I have debated taking them off because I dont want people in the know to think i'm tryin to perp.. but i like the way they look.. they had also put pinstipes and a 4x4 sticker on the tailgate above the SE 5.6 badge .. i took that off because it looked like crap...

Re: Is it offroad or not.

See if you can get a VIN number, someone here would be able to decipher it I'm sure.
