Arrow Are TOYOTA's really TOUGH???? Check this video out!

I like surfing thru you-tube and street fire watching different videos of trucks and cars. But this one....is worth mentioning. Check it out.

Yeah top gear had this episode for a couple of years and they did a lot of extra appearances. Its a great truck. They dropped it and it still worked!

I didn't watch the whole thing this time, but I saw it several months ago. It's amazing what that thing went through. Seawater in the engine, blown up on top of a building, etc. And with just a few handtools, the mechanic kept it alive. That IS amazing!

Re: Are TOYOTA's really TOUGH???? Check this video out!

Yup the old Toyota trucks are the real deal.

I have had my 4x4 for 8 years and the only thing I have done to it besides oil changes and tires is a brake job once and a new battery twice. I've put mine through hell and the whole under carriage is orange with rust but the thing keeps on tickin. The beasts are bulletproof.

Too bad the new ones aren't in the same league. I think the new Rangers are now considered a more reliable truck than the new Tacomas.

That's cause the new rangers are the old rangers...they haven't updated that thing for crap in a decade...although I guess they did swap the 2.3 for 2.5

That's true, reliability tends to follow longevity. What was the last major change for the Ranger? 1993? My dad had a 1993 Ranger, it seemed state of the art at the time. I think it's still being built on the same platform since the 80s though.

Re: Are TOYOTA's really TOUGH???? Check this video out!

I have a 99 Tachoma with 240,000 miles on it and I drive 110 miles a day over a tight, twisty mountain road. I drive it like I stole it. I've gone through 13 sets of tires and four sets of brakes and 80 oil changes. Nothing at all has ever broke on this truck and I plan to give it hell for at least another four to five years.

Re: Are TOYOTA's really TOUGH???? Check this video out!

Those old trucks were good but I don't think their new ones are the same..

My Friend had a Tacoma TRD and kept getting stuck in the sand and I had to keep pulling him out with my 4x4 86 SE. He got sick of his new 2000 tacoma getting stuck and pulled out by an old *** nissan so he decided to drive it on the hard pack. Ended up swerving into the cochilla canal at glamis and thats the last time he saw his truck. Over $25,000 worth of elecronics damage from the fresh water. **** would not start nothing. Compleatly totaled.

I got rid of a 2005 Ranger to buy my Titan. It was a POS. Today, I am driving my trusty 94 For Ranger, that just won't seem to die. The Ranger is still on the same 20 year old platform, but the parts fall off a lot faster now.
