Missing Tranny temp Gauge

I just traded my 04 Superduty Diesel for a 05 Titan with 6K miles on it or so I thought. I get in the truck and the first thing I notice is the tranny temp gauge missing. I thought it may be that the previous owner may have not gotten the Big Tow package and just put the mirrors and the hitch on the truck but when I crawled under the truck and looked at the rear end it had the lower rear-end gear. So I called Nissan and they confirmed that the truck shipped with the Big tow package. I went the dealership were I made the purchase and they are trying to obtain the actual invoice to verify the package was on the truck. They have pretty much come to the conclusion that the truck has the package but want to make sure that Nissan would not have left off the temp gauge by accident. I am thinking that the instrument cluster was changed out to hide mileage and dumped on the dealership. I wanted to know if anyone has the Big Tow with no temp gauge. They are willing to find me a similar vehicle and make me happy probably to protect themselves. Any feed back would be much appreciated

Vehicle was in the Washington DC area. I had it shipped to Atlanta. All of the Carfax stuff checked out and i pulled the warranty work so far just a recall for the trailer harness and the brakes were replaced at 5K miles.

That is what the dealership thinks and they are hoping that is what happened.

Re: Missing Tranny temp Gauge

it's possible. I can only imagine how hard it is to keep track of that stuff on the assembly line. Esp. since the clusters look so similair.

Good luck hard to prove as a second owner... Sorry just being honest.. I've seen a lot of factory screw ups, but that would be a first...

Well at this time Carmax is willing to give me a full refund or find my a replacement but i really wanted to have a vehicle with no drama. I went through two powerstrokes (Lemon law) and never got a truck that ran right.
