New or Old Rotors?

My recently purchased used '04 Titan CC has about 3 months remaining on the factory warranty but only has 22,000 miles on it. I am concerned about brake judder but at this point I don't feel that the brakes have any problems. Is there any way to tell if these are the original rotors and pads? Are the "final fix" rotors the same size as the originals? I am going to take it into the dealer to have a couple of items fixed and was wondering if I should just tell them that I have judder and see if they will do anything about it. Thanks for any adivce or opinions.

Re: New or Old Rotors?

Here ya go.
There is a misprint on the actuall size though, on the first pic 1 & 2 are reversed. But you'll get the idea anyway.

OC, i just went in and told my serv. man. that the steering wheel has started shaking when the brakes were used..He said judder right away and told me it was covered to have 4-rotors and new pads installed FREEEEEEE!!! .
i have the extended warranty to 75K w/50$ deduct. He said it was covered through nissan, so i shut up. My truck has 52K, its an `04...Each stealership is different.. Good luck

Re: New or Old Rotors?

When the service tech runs your vin, the service records should show him if the fix was done, also any of the tsb or recalls.

Re: New or Old Rotors?

Also, nissan has extended the warrantee on the brakes on the titans.... If you are in cali, take it to performance nissan in duarte and talk to Tim. He will hook you up.

Re: New or Old Rotors?

A quick way is to look at the rotors, if there's a groove near the center hub it's the newer style, the older style is flat all the way to the center hub. You can still get the judder with the newer style rotors if you still have older style pads.

Re: New or Old Rotors?

I was talking to my frend who works at a nissan dealer yesterday and he said the rotors and calipers on the 07s are huge in comparison to the current brakes including the current permanent fix.

We will see.

I did the same with the dealership in Salisbury, NC., but in my case I really hadn't experienced any brake problems, I just wanted to make sure I got the "fix" before my warranty ran out and then I was stuck. The service man didn't blink, and completely replaced my rotors and pads for free. Heck, they even washed my truck when I went in to pick it up. I'm happy.
