THE INSTALL:
just installed my coilovers. it took longer than it should have because we were using my truck's spare tire jack. the only part that tripped us up was we couldn't get all 3 bolts to line up exactly on the top. the trick is to start the thread just a little bit on each so there is more play. we got 1 hand-tightened one at a time and the last bolt would not line up. we got that straighted out rather quickly and the 2nd side went real quick.
THE ALIGNMENT:
i measured the toe-in using Greg's method. the front measured 75.75 from tread to tread. the rear measured 76.25. Greg suggested to get it about 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch. he said it would be approximately 1 full turn out on the tie-rod. that thing was on tight! it barely budged. i'm going to go ahead and get it aligned at a shop tomorrow morning but i will definitely re-measure the toe to make sure it is within spec. greg was looking out for me and was concerned that some shops don't do the alignment correctly. unfortunately, for me, i didn't have enough power to do it myself. i didn't want any bloody knuckles because my hands are delicate and i need them for typing on the keyboard.
THE EXPERIENCE:
man! that ride is great. i only drove it about 8 miles from my buddy's house to my home. i wanted to drive it more but i don't want to mess up my tires. every "little" bump i used to feel is non-existent. all the medium-sized bumps feel like small bumps. all the big bumps feel like a smooth dip. so far, so good. i love them!
THE LOOK:
the 2 inch increase in height was extremely noticeable to me and my friends. i'm deciding on whether or not i should get a 1" (1.5" for 4x4) deaver upgrade or get a 1" block for the back. i gotta get a better look at it in the light of day.
