Road Force Balance ?

Hi everyone !

I have heard a couple of new terms used in relation to tire problems that I'm not sure what the meaning is; The terms are "High Road Force",
and "Road Force Balance". Can someone educate me a little?

Thanks

Re: Road Force Balance ?

i don't know much about it but i had it done to my truck. i had problems with vibration that shook the entire cabin at 60-65 mph. they did various things to try to solve the problem. one of those was a road force balance which they explained to me as balancing the wheels while they are still on the vehicle. they said this is only attempted if traditional (off the vehicle) balancing of the wheels is unsuccessful. also, i think those machines are expensive. that's all i know about that.

Re: Road Force Balance ?

road force is the slap of a flat side of a tire hitting the road. every tire is a little out of round, same for the wheel. the hunter gsp 9700 machine aligns the flat side of tire with the roundest side of wheel and smooths out the roll. some tires and some wheels are too far out to smooth in this way.
