Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) For XE?

I was wondering if the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) could be added to our Titans aftermarket? I just saw on CNN that all new cars will be required to have it standard by 2011. They also said it would only add about $100 to the price of a new car.

In all honesty, I think to do this you have to have a different program in the ECU than what we have. The XE's do have anti-lock brakes, so the addition of the VDC shouldn't be difficult from an engineering standpoint. However, I am willing to bet that it would cost MUCH more than 100$ to do it, that price is the extra cost of development and implementation spread out over all sales of a vehicle. Also, you should have a new car/truck by the year 2011 and that one should have VDC.

Re: Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) For XE?

i'm with B. You can have all that malfunctioning B***S**T off of my truck. Brakes=K.I.S.S principle=safety. Anything electronic added to a simple reliable system make it trouble prone. Much better to learn how to drive and live within the laws of physics. My TITAN has been in shop monthly since May because of that prototype crap on my brakes. NISSAN has no idea how to fix it. In shop now 2 weeks. I got a lawyer on Friday.
