06 Headlight Removal bulb replacement

How difficult is it to remove the entire headlight assembly to gain access to swap/replace bulbs?

remove front grille (watch the clips and watch how you put them back.. they are fiddly).

now each headlight is held down by 4 bolts. 2 are easy, the other 2 are on the side and up front behind the bumper.

those just suck.. you might want to remove the fender liner in the front but you don't have to, just makes it easier to see them.

then you just unclip the connectors and you are done. ~ 1hour if you are slowish and careful

do you have an SE or LE? because if so you dont have to remove the headlights to put in new bulbs. all you have to do is take out the screw that holds the fender well in place and you can reach up and take them out. im sure an XE could do it this way as well, you'd just have to take the fender well out more.
