hi
im most likely getting an 05 Titan King Cab with about 16K miles on it in a few days!.... the deal is not done yet, so any good and/or bad advice would be greatly appreaciated!
i love the truck, but would love to hear from you guys about your thoughts regarding it. i've heard there has been some brake problems?
I dont see why not, if you dont mind me asking how much are you getting it for? Im sure you could get a good deal on a brand new 06 now too.
well, credit wise a brand new one wont happen. tried that a couple times already in the last 18 months or so. was shot down faster than an Iraqi war plane.
im trading in my 02 Altima SE with only 30K on it. the dealer wants around 26K for the 05 Titan. it does have a kewl muffler and one of thos Mismo air intakes under the hood. the dealer has tentatively found a bank that will finance me. going in on Sat. morn to do all the hassling and dealing. ill bring up the brake judder issue right off the bat, and demand assurances on the status of this Titan's brakes before i buy. im probs payiny too much for it, but i wanna get into a Titan really bad! gonna try and see if i can add running boards and fog lights in the deal.... will see what happens.
Depend on what's all included on the Titan. I bought a brand new 05 4x2 CC with
TX Package
BT Package
Pop. package with Capt.s chair
Trac Package
TX Utility bed package
Under seat storage
for $29K Out the door. So that price seems a little high IMO.
We just took an '04, CC, SE 4X4, Popular package w/buckets, big tow, and bed pkg, for just over 18 after recon, 35,000 miles... Price seems steep if you ask me! Haggle them!
I do not know what options are on the truck, but I too think you are paying way too much. If your credit isn't that good anyway, I would find a better deal. having good credit in the future when you are looking at buying a house is much more important than having a cool truck now.
For reference, I bought my 05 brand new for 21,000$ It is an XE CC 2x4 with the popular package. Also, I suggest you start looking at websites like www.edmunds.com or www.kbb.com and price the truck you are looking at. I doubt you should pay as much as you are being offered.

Please don't buy that truck dude...that is a huge rip-off unless it is an LE 4x4. You said it is a King cab...I just got a 2006 King Cab SE with a bunch of options for $22,000 and it was brand new. Why pay $4000 more for a 2005 with 16k miles on it?
That's an outrageous price for an '05, unless it has gold inlay's.
Just last month, I bought my '06 KC SE for $22k out the door. That's AFTER taxes, tags, title, etc.... I was in Houston yesterday, and noticed in the paper that Nissan was offering over $8000 off msrp. That's their STARTING price. You can usually get them down a little more.
I would not walk, but run away from that "deal".
Keep searching around. Talk to your bank, or credit union. They can usually find a way to help you buy a new one. Also, sell the car yourself, and use that as a downpayment.
well, the advice i was looking for was about the truck itself. but thanks anywaz.
got the Titan this morning, and im pretty happy with the deal. i got em to throw in Bars and Fog lights no charge.
anywaz...I LOVE IT! its an awesome truck.
dont forget tho, i live in CT, and everything here is going to cost ALOT more than in Texas or the rest of the country for that matter. i agree its a bit hi, but CT has the highest per capita income in the nation, so hence just about everything is priced accordingly. especially here in Fairfield county.
thanks all for the advice. oh, and i did make sure that the TSB on the brakes were done......VVVRRROOOOOMMMM!
Don't worry about what you paid for it! These are great trucks and well worth every dollar. You'll fall in love with it so fast, you'll forget about the $$$ you dropped on it.
Sure, they have a few bugs to work out, but what truck doesn't! As far as the brakes go, the dealer has the fix for it and it won't cost you a dime.

2005 Nissan Titan LE 4x4 w/16,000 miles
Edmunds.com Dealer Sales price for Zip code 06601 Fairfield County in Excellent Condition $24,000
2005 Nissan Titan SE 4x2 w/16,000 miles
Edmunds.com Dealer Sales price for Zip code 06601 Fairfield County in Excellent Condition $18,900
So, even if you got the fully-loaded LE 4x4 King cab, it should have only cost you $24,000. If all you got was an SE, then you should have only paid $19,000.
Anyways, I hope the Titan you paid $26,000 was for a fully-loaded LE 4x4, otherwise I think the stealership just <own3d> you big time.
Regardless, you now have a Titan, so don't think twice about it anymore! Go enjoy your Titan and cheap $2 gas prices!!
the zip codes here start w 068's.... so maybe that will change ur computations...hehe
anywaz, i got my TITAN! and to be honest w ya, all i really care about are the monthly payments and getting the Bar and fog lights. when i go car shopping i really dont hassle over the price...just get me into what i want..
